I’ve eaten at The Wood many times and I’ve always had a positive experience. Don’t let the dark, dated atmosphere fool you, it’s a very friendly and comfortable place. The food is very good, although I miss the old days when there was a different themed lunch buffet every day. The menu is good and the portions are very generous. I’ve enjoyed the clubhouse, nachos, soup and salad, and the stand out is their ribs, they are delicious! I recommend you give this place a try.

But nowthey’ve changed,my co worker from previous jobinvited me to have a carvery lunch at the tavern. The carvery lunch is every M-W-F but Friday is definitely aroast beef day and the rest of the days are either roast pork or beef. We walked in and find a seat and our server was fast and friendly. We bothorderedfor carvery lunchwhich isroast beef, mashed potatoes, carrots, bread and butter and gravy. It was delicious,huge portion of the roast beef. I would say atopnotchlunch we ever had at a very reasonable price of $8.95 before taxes. A must try and highly recommended.
If you like rotten lettuce! dine here! :/. My boyfriend and I live down the street and decided to order take out since it was so close. What could possibly go wrong right? His burger was COLD and covered in wet soggy lettuce and my salad was just as soggy. But since that’s all I had to eat I picked through it to try to find edible pieces. GROSS! Mmmm delicious rotten lettuce!
Worst Greek pizza I have ever had. Very underdone and I like thin crust but there was almost no crust. Just handfuls of hard to eat mediocre toppings. Dont order the pizza.
Great food and great service. I have found the food to be fresh and the staff to be freindly and helpful. The steak sandwich is my favourite. Especially with a cold local beer.
