Pretty Darn Good!. In a competitive down town market for East Indian food (we had the lunch buffet), this place is winning for various reasons!1) Competitive price2) Very Friendly and efficient Staff3) REALLY good food and very high quality. There were items on buffet that were different, yet they had all of the standards (but at an above standard quality).4) Buffet includes Nann bread and a pop.It is a bit hidden, but well worth the find!We went with a group that frequents various lunch spots down town and we will be back!
Nice Place – Good Value – Good Food.. We wanted a neighborhood place downtown and this place hit the spot. The three of us ordered the buffet which was average in size with samosas, 2 soups, basmati rice, and about 10 hot dishes including tandoori and butter chicken. There was a modest desert selection as well as salad and fruit available. Yogurt, hot sauces, and tamarind sauce were also available. The price was about $12.50 including a soft drink and complimentary nan.The new owners made a huge effort by refinishing all the old dark wood with its 5 coats of paint. The place has warm pub feel.I will definitely be back.
No stone unturned in disappointing.. Don’t even know where to begin – shoddy service, quality (or lack of) of food, no attempt to even mask that the prepared food is not fresh – cold and stale, some dishes even smelled rotten. Even with the groupon we felt ripped off.
Very friendly service and great value for your money!. The butter chicken was very tasty and the quality was better than other East Indian restaurants we’ve tried. The cabbage dish in the buffet was great as well. Although the naan seemed preformed, it was fried with butter so still was yummy. It was a bonus that fountain drinks and an assortment of Indian desserts were included in the buffet price! Service was great- very willing to accommodate and very friendly!
Nice little buffet. We had a Groupon and went to Waves today for lunch. The buffet had a nice selection of traditional Indian fare (curries, kormas, butter chicken etc.). The desserts were very tasty, and offered a good variety. We did have to unwrap a few of the items; but we also arrived right at 11:30am, so they were just opening up for lunch. Service was attentive, and with the Groupon, the meal was extremely affordable.
They have made a bunch of changes. 05.29.14: Went last nite for all you can eat buffet. They switched from one area inside the Hostel Royal Plaza to another. This area is a bunch nicer. Quantity and variety of items is no longer an issue. Food was high quality (no issues with saltiness). Service was friendly. Just two tips for feedback: salad needed to be more fresh. And a batch of naan bread that had come out was not made properly (the 1st batch that was out when we got there was completely fine, no issues with it)4.23.14: Went for the lunch buffet about 4 weeks ago. Lunch buffet there open till 330pm. Quantity of items was insufficient. And I found the food was too salty. Think the price was in the $13’s with the tax.
