The food is decent. The price is a bit high but you do get a lot of food. Super loud in there and the service is quite slow. Waited for up to 25 mins …

I was in the area yesterday and was craving a burger. Im not from this area of town so I wasnt sure if there was a Greek style burger joint nearby (which is my usual go to). This location is located right on the main drag at the corner of a huge intersection (Lag and Regent), so it caught my eye. Was doing takeout and I completely understand the effects of doing takeout at Five Guys. Basically, you gotta eat whatever it is you order quickly. As you can see from the photo and the others posted. The burger is generally a mess when you unwrap it… The burger is pretty soggy too. As for taste, this burger is actually really good. Instead of chili, they have a good assortment of sauces to season the already very juice patty.Service is normally really good. This is the first time I showed up 30 minutes before closing, and I was somewhat surprised… They refused to throw bacon on the grill. They had also put some of the items like grilled mushrooms away so I couldnt get those either… It was still good nonetheless, but wasnt impressed.
For those saying it’s over priced, yes it is compared to a 1.35 hamburger from McDoanlds or a slider from A&W. Both of those burgers will hold up well for up to an hour before eating. 5 guys is meant to be eaten within 20 minutes max of making due to their fresh toppings and bun choice. I like the open atmosphere and the fact that I see my burger go through all the stages to completion. Any other burger with their quality will be a Moxies/Earle’s/Tavern type burger and your paying a bit more for that anyways. While I am loyal to locals such as Burger Factory and George’s, these guys are on par as a chain.
I had eaten at Fatburger earlier this week, and wasn’t too impressed. Winnipeg’s Greek-owned burger joints (VJ’s, George’s, Superboys, White Top) are my favourite, but I wanted to try the other gourmet burger place in town from the US.It was pretty good. Definitely better than Fatburger. Tasty well-seasoned patty, and the bacon was nice and crunchy. The fried we’re pretty standard, but decent nonetheless.I wouldn’t seek out Five Guys again, but in a pinch, it’ll do nicely.
I agree with all the people that say way over priced. I can go to a mom & pop burger place and get 2 burgers and a large bag (not a little cup) of fries that can feed two for the same price I paid to feed one. The burger was very wet and the bun fell apart before I was half way done and had to finish the burger with a fork. To me it did not have a lot of flavor. The fries? Again the fries from mom and pop are better, more and tastier. I came here because of all the hype I heard about it. Would I come back? Not when there are mom & pop places that are better and cheaper.
This is a tough one to rate.Burgers are big, fresh and very yummy – but they’re really pricey. Options for burger toppings is excellent -but where’s thechili sauce? Fries are mediocre – but you get a ton of them. Service isaverage – but it’s okay if they’re slowish becausewho doesn’t mind waiting if you have free peanuts to munch on?
Beeh here a few months ago, I really like how they make the food fresh right in front of you! But the only thing I don’t like about it is the price… The burgers are juicy and loaded with ingredients! But if you’re paying for $8.95 for a bacon cheese burger who you’re giving to someone who does not eat vegetables and they don’t offer substitutions on what to put inside? You’re going to feel a little ripped off. I live with a stubborn eater, I think it’s a psychological thing that I’m slowly helping the person ease into – but if you were to order one thing on their menu that’s under $10 for one item only, YOU NEED TO BE ABLE TO HAVE EVERYTHING ON IT! Because YOU’RE GETTING WHAT YOU PAID FOR RIGHT? Definitely not a place for someone who is watching their weight to go… Some of their options are like heart attacks in a bun – BUT SO TASTY!The best thing about this place is the fries!!! Fries in a bag, the portion is good, nice fresh, and crispy! I may have to re-evaluate my review again the next time I come back here. They also have free nuts if you dine in.
Overpriced burgers and fries. this place is too expensive for what you get. Wil never return, better places to go for a burger and fries in winnipeg.
