Was NOT impressed!!. Driver got lost, and didn’t bother to call us, we had to call them. Finally shows up an hour and 45 minutes after we ordered. We live 15 mins away!I was looking forward to the Szechuan chicken, and it was absolutely disgusting. Literally just tastes like Frank’s hot sauce. Revolting. The beef and broccoli, good sauce but I’d say it was like 10% beef, 90% broccoli. The fried rice is very tiny portions. The pork tenderloin and black bean garlic sauce – VERY delicious, but again the portion size is so bad. Very little meat compared to the massive chunks of onions. The honey garlic chicken balls were delicious. The spring rolls were overcooked.Overall I am extremely disappointed in Good Fortune. We will not be ordering from here again.
The food was very good! The prices were reasonable as were the portions, my family enjoyed the egg rolls and the battered shrimp the most. An overall good place to go for Chinese food.
Ordered take out, 7 dishes and all 7 were great. I will definitely be ordering here again. The order was made quickly and the price was cheaper than expected. Good find.
Passable Fortune. Ordered delivery on New Years Day–was happy to see they were open. The service was friendly, fast and food was hot. The quality of the ingredients was mediocre (not a fan of the processed white chicken strips on the chicken fried rice — do not recommend that) but the vegetables were tasty and not overcooked. Not my number one choice but a decent option.
ALRIGHT FORTUNE. Ordered for the family, order was late, but somethings are worth the wait. Moved to Transcona last year and still searching for that perfect Chinese Restaurant. My search Continues. No major complaints about this restaurant except I wasn’t wowed by it either. Kind of strange we couldn’t order chicken or beef shanghai noodles. Had to be pork. Must not be made to order.
My Favorite Chinese Food Place in the City. We all know everyone says that they know the best Chinese Food, in this case Good Fortune is my choice! They have great portion sizes, terrific taste and quality. I always get take-out as my choice. Do not let the decor turn you away. It is too bad however, since they could get more people, if the inside looked better. So if you are in the area and want good Chinese food, this is the place . :)The food is full of flavor and cooked with delicious spices and sauces. The Hong Kong style chow mein so very delicious. I often think about it from time to time when I want some good Chinese noodles. The chicken balls have meat inside and hardly any batter and have many sauce choices. There are at least a hundred choices to pick from, the most selection I have ever seen for Chinese Food. So there is plenty to choose from. So you are sure to find your favorite.Really great people run the restaurant and have been running it for at least 25 years. I grew up with their food and even though I moved twice, I always order from there 🙂
A strange gem. A great little place hidden from the main drag. Massive portions, piping hot…try the dry breaded veal – stunning. Try it again cold the next day – whoo!! Also great is the Cantonese Chow Mein – bed of skinny noodles with tons of veggies and chicken, pork and usually two or three shrimp. Awesome. Probably laden with MSGs but soooo yummy! Honey garlic chicken balls are like candy! Egg Foo Yong is huge. Decently priced for what you get. Delivery can be quite slow so I suggest pickup. You don’t want to dine in. This place has many die-hard regulars. It’s been around a long time and I have been visiting for many years. I don’t think Chinese gets much better than this! I’d rate it 9/10.
