Stay away from these hacks. I tried a beef roti and was disappointed with the small amount of meat and lack of flavor. I'll stay with Tropikis or Fame…

Had the Island tacos today at lunch. It was fantastic. I’m from California, and I’m a taco freak, and have eaten a lot of them in my lifetime. I don’t recommend too many taco places.
stopped by here yesterday, at soca reggae fest, there was no organization for the line, people were evewhere, some girl just cut me to go talk to the cashier, looked like they were friends as they ran off and watched the show later, but thats when i asked a woman in line if she was waiting but she said she had already ordered, so i went up to the cashier and ordered my island tacos, it was 2 for 8$, it was quick, came out in acouple mins, they were very good, just had a little kick to them, pretty spicy, i think i’d try their food again, i just wish the cashier would go out of her way to say ‘hello’ and greet customers that quite obviously seem to be waiting to order…
Taco!. Loved the island taco. Full of flavour. I have had the chicken roti there as well and it was delicious and filling. Was a good experience.
Meh….Not so great. The only thing this truck has going for them is that they play music to attract people. However, the food isn’t as good as it looks. The doubles is technically one, when they are charging for 2. I have been to many Caribbean restaurants and that is not how traditional doubles is supposed to be. The chicken roti was bland with large chunks of potatoes and no meat. I personally would not go here again.
Great food!!!!. Probably the most flavourful chicken roti I’ve had compared to other Caribbean restaurants in Winnipeg. It did not taste like it was seasoned with only salt and pepper (like many chicken rotis do). The hot sauce was yummy too but spicy! Get it on the side and drizzle some on, delicious! Needs some more chicken in the roti, but overall, very good!
Tasty and Flavourful Roti but the Chicken is missing??. Just tried the chicken roti at Island Food Truck for the first time today. Roti was very good and I can say that because I have had many rotis growing up in the Caribbean. However, for $10.00 I believe a few more pieces of chicken would have made this chicken roti perfect. It was very hard to find the chicken amongst the pieces of potatoes.
Great doubles!. Fun food truck I found on Broadway (between Donald and Hargrave) selling very delicious doubles! Doubles is a Trinidadian street food – deep fried flat bread with curried chick peas. This place was selling 2 doubles for $6 – a tad pricey but it was really good especially with the house made hot sauce that was available for you to add on. The hot sauce had a good kick but not as spicy as I thought it would be. This dish is a bit messy to eat for street food as you really have to use your hands and fold it up and just eat it with all that sauce dripping. But it’s so damn good so it’s worth the mess. Love how the truck plays some fun island music too.
