Super disappointing. My husband went here when it first opened and enjoyed it and we both went recently and we would never go back. I got the caprese. The bun was not fresh. I was hoping for a fresh baked bun but it was just a bun from a grocery store; dry and tasteless. I expected the sandwich to be heated as the cheese is so cold, it would be nice to at least warm it up. The spread was subpar, tastes like hummus so nothing I can’t get myself. My husband got the lamb blt. He thought his sandwich would be heated as well but no, cold lamb it was. For 11$ you expect a delicious sandwich and a filling sandwich. Mine was 8.25$. Next time I’ll go to Subway. Cheaper, more filling and more taste. It’s not hip but oh well.
The brisket is sooo gooood. House made pickles are STRONG they pack a punch!! So good. Its a bit expensive but you get a ton of meat. Nice selection of sodas and drinks too. You can help yourself to water which is always nice so you don’t have to keep asking for refills. Its tiny in there and can get crazy busy in the summer
Extremely overrated. I wanted to like this place, but I couldn’t find enough reasons. The service was quick, but it’s basically a take-out sandwich shop, so I’d expect it to be fast. I had the beef brisket sandwich. The meat was cut into giant chunks so every time I bit into the sandwich, a huge piece of meat would slide out and I’d be left with mustard on bread. I agree with a previous reviewer that the mustard overpowered the flavour of the meat. It was too much! I didn’t get anything else with my sandwich, by the way. No pickles, no chips, no soup. If I wanted soup, I’d have paid extra. As to quality, I can’t say it was the best beef brisket I ever had, but it certainly was the most expensive. The patio was lovely – great location during Fringe – but I think I will stick with Bernstein’s and Oscar’s for my sandwiches from now on.
Feel like we should be tarred and feathered for dare writing a bad review about this apparent hipster’s darling of a sandwich shop. We got the veg caprese sandwich which may have been Mistake #1, this is not a place to get get a vegetarian sandwich apparently (so maybe it’s not so hipster after all). It was a hotdog bun with a bunch of tomatoes, a few chunks of tasteless feta and a drizzle of a spicy sauce and pumpkin seeds on top. Extremely boring. Well good thing we also got the smoked chicken sandwich which should have been a safe bet, right? Well it certainly was safe but no more than some not very smokey chicken and sauce on a burger bun with a spattering of lettuce and cuke slices. Bland and boring albeit edible. Both sandwiches, without sides, were $21 before tax an apparent expected tip. Perhaps we ordered the wrong stuff but it was so disappointing it’s unlikely we would bother taking a chance to return to try anything else. There are so many better sandwiches in the city at better prices.
Nice spot, sat on the patio. Had the special which was with Pork, jalapeos, cilantro and some kind of delicious sauce in a bun. It was good, it was not the best. Pork was greasy and lacked flavor. If it wasn’t for the sauce it would’ve been bland. Will go back to try something else though
K&B is great every time I visit. I can honestly say that I don’t know of anyone who has not enjoyed their meal there. Tasty specials and consistency make K&B a top draw for the deli crowd. I personally recommend the slow roast lamb BLT, so good especially when you combo with a pickle and a pint of LBJ 1919! If you haven’t gone, go. It’s worth the trip from anywhere you may happen to be when hunger strikes!
Nice open layout that is clean contemporary and chic. The staff is attentive and accurate and the food is served in a short time. Had the Ruben which is a house favorite and it was pretty good. Nicely presented with good portion sizes. Would come back next time I’m in the neighborhood.
