Great coffee and they do wonderful work for the community. The staff in the past wasn’t very friendly but it seems to have improved. Great addition to downtown Winnipeg.
Tried the espresso.Maybe I missed the memo, but espresso blends aren’t supposed to be sour. North American cafes don’t seem to know how to blend their beans.Ideally, the blend uses beans from multiple locations and use both types of beans, with the result being a warm, smooth, chocolaty taste. Italian cafes do this very well. This blend uses the delicate arabica beans, but because they are more delicate, they sour too quickly when you roast and use them in espresso presses. Save your money and go to Black Pearl instead.
Espresso was as it should be – dark and lovely! Service is impressive and efficient. I’d recommend getting their coffee to go as they have very little room to sit which is somewhat disappointing. Overall a great little spot and I love their relationship with the Winnipeg art scene. XOXO
