I love Shawarma. I’ve tried numerous places and decided to go to Khan and let me telk you this. The meat was cold and flavorless. felt like I’m eating subway. I really wanted him to shave off that meat right into my pita but instead took it from the warning container. So disspointed. that’s why I’d rather drive half way across the city to eat at Baraka
Quick, healthy filling meal. The Wrath of Khan is my favourite (especially with the sliced up pickled pink things). The salads are great. Keep up the great work!
Went to Shwarma Khan twice for lunch while visiting Winnipeg. The service was friendly and prompt and the chicken shawarma plate and wrap were delicious (two separate meals). The pita chips on the plate were really good, as was the beet salad. Really good value.
Was excited to finally try this place out as I had heard good things. Got a meat-trio shawarma plate to-go with beef, lamb and chicken. There was a little bit of rice, roast potatoes, about a tablespoon of tabouli, and a little beet and apple salad. Condiments included a tablespoon of hummus, a tablespoon of garlic sauce, some onions, banana peppers and pickled turnips. Gotta say, it was disappointing. There was sooo little meat (that I can barely comment on it) and no pita. The pickled turnips are usually my absolutely favourite part, but theirs were so salty that I couldn’t eat them. The potatoes were chewy, as though they’d been sitting in the warming tray overnight. For the price, this just wasn’t worth it. Especially when Best Pizza and Donair’s shawarma plate is bigger and better for less money. Will not be returning.
Sooooooo good, super friendly staff, really accommodating and helpful since we were new to the menu. Good portion. Good real good. Got a falafel plate and they made the falafel fresh. Can’t wait to go back, one of my new favourite places. Nice change for once.
Been meaning to try this place for a while now and am I happy I did. Great place to grab a quick bite or even take your meal to go. I got the Beef and Lamb plate, the plates give you a lot more so you get to try a little bit of everything! The rice is enjoyable and not super heavy. The meat is flavourful, but not moist or juicy and a bit more on the dry side. I chose the Tabbouleh salad (parsley, bulgur wheat, red onions, cucumbers, tomatoes and spices), along with the beet and apple salad, a unique combination but works well. The hummus and tahini sauce were both delicious, very flavourful! The potatoes were lightly seasoned which was great, because everything else is full of flavour. My only complaint is that my food was barely warm and I ate it like 32 seconds after I got it. I for sure enjoy my food more when it’s hot. Also, the hot sauce wasn’t actually hot, so that was a bit disappointing, but other than that this is a great place! Staff is super friendly, it’s in a great area of the city and of course the food is good! You just might want gum for after, cause the garlic tends to stay in your mouth.
Good quick food. Falafel patties are very tasty. Shawarma and falafels can be made into platters or pitas. The tahini and garlic sauce portions are generous and extra delicious when slathered on your whole meal. We like the salads as well, especially the tabbouleh.
