Only good for late night munchies after the bar closes.I feel like I should like this place more than I do. I’m a poutine lover but this place does not satisfy my cravings. Not sure what it is exactly: low quality gravy? not enough cheese?
The fries were over cooked, very dry. There was very little cheese but lots of bacon. They used to be much better. Also the gravy was sub par.
Friends or people who visit always want to try out this place, I dislike it very much. Not the best poutine I’ve ever had, honestly Costco’s poutine is so much better. I’ve had the original, the pulled pork and my partner has tried 3 other kinds but every time, the fries are not salted, dry, overcooked, not enough cheese, not enough gravy. After so many times of giving them another chance, I won’t be returning.
So I tried this because my bf suggested it and said it was good. When I tried their poutine I wasn’t impressed at all. Over priced menu and it looked like they only microwaved it! Gravy was OK though but I don’t think I’d go back again.
If you’re going to devote an entire menu to a side dish, you better make one hell of a side dish. Their gravy is terrible, the fries themselves are good, and the options to put on your fries is many and decent, but if the gravy is inedible then what’s the point? Never knew something could be both bland and over salted at the same time, maybe the flavour profile they want for their gravy is salt, not sure but it’s terrible.
Not as good as everyone makes it out to be! We got the bigger size of the traditional poutine with bacon to share. I don’t know if it was just that the bacon didn’t really go with poutine or if we should have ordered something else. There wasn’t near enough cheese on it and the gravy was OK at best. I read another review that said the gravy tastes like it comes out of a can and has a very fake, chemical taste and that could not be more true. The fries are very thin which I don’t really mind but they got soggy from the steam in the closed box right away. I know soggy fries maybe is expected in poutine??? but it just wasn’t very good, especially for the price. I would honestly rather McDonald’s poutine at least their gravy is flavourful
My bf recommended to eat here and I like how it’s packed although a really small box costs like $6 + tax leading you to buy the biggest box instead because the cost is more reasonable at around $15. The fries doesn’t look fresh at all as well as their bacon… But I would like to bring my brother here and see if he likes it.
