Tasty and well made goods. We were there Sat midday and fresh warm bakes were still coming out warm from the back. Staff knew the product. We’ll be back.
Beautiful store, great service. The items however, for the price, are extremely expensive and I found the dough to be under-seasoned in several instances. Staff is knowledgeable, but I do think there are better bakeries with much more selection that I would rather spend my money in (Belle Baguette and L’epi de Bl come to mind).I would consider going back again in a few months to see if the selection has grown. The lodeve was quite heavy (one of the under-seasoned items), and while the pain au chocolat was tasty, I personally didn’t find it any better than any I’ve had in the city. I do hope they do well. The south end of the city was in desperate need of a decent bakery/patisserie.
Stopped by at this place last Saturday after lunchand almost of their pastries are sold out. That’s how busy the place was. I ended up getting the matcha brioche, the freshly four berries cheese croissant, cinnamon with spinkled coconut on top and the small slice of matcha green in color- can’t remember what it’s called-lol. All was very good! Staff was very friendly and informative about their pastries and ingredients. Be back to try other pastries.
Very cute bakery shop. I dropped by for the matcha brioche, black truffle focaccia, and taro coconut bun. I love the matcha brioche as it is fluffy and the crunch on the outside just makes it that much better. My only complaint would be that the photo (in stores) shows more matcha cream than there really is. My brioche was quite hallow inside with only a thin layer of cream. The taro coconut pastry is also very good as there is a generous amount of coconut and it is not overly sweet. I didn’t enjoy the black truffle focaccia very much, and neither did the rest of my family. I think the brothwell cheese on top is too overwhelming for my liking. In this case, unlike the matcha bun, I really did not enjoy the crunch on top. Overall, I would come here again and I hope to try their croissants next!
After hearing about this new bakery that opened in the Fort Garry area, I’ve been wanting to pay the place a visit. I was heading back home and since I would be driving past the area, the hubs and I decided to stop by. We got there around 2:30 pm. Majority of the pastries had already been sold out, but there were still some available such as the matcha brioche and black truffle focaccia, which we ended up getting. It turns out that the bakery was reviewed in the Winnipeg Free Press today with a perfect score of 5/5 stars, which may be the reason why most pastries were gone. We bought 2 matcha brioche and 1 black truffle focaccia which came up to a total of about $15. I think the price is definitely worth it. The matcha brioche had the perfect amount of matcha in it and the cream/custard in the center was good and not overly sweet, though I wished there was more of it. The brioche itself was super soft and moist and the crust on top was not overly sweet (reminded me of Chinese pineapple buns). The black truffle focaccia was also super soft and moist and had plentiful of black truffles in it. My favourite part of the focaccia was the smoked Bothwell cheddar crust on top. Aside from the black truffle and cheddar, the focaccia also had peppers, olives and garlic infused within.I definitely recommend giving this place a try, and I am planning to return to try all the other pastries I had missed during this first trip there. They are open Tues-Sun from 10:30 am to 8:30 pm.
I rarely ever write reviews, but this place was so good that I had to write one. The pastries were amazing, some of the best I’ve ever had. Some may say that they’re a bit pricey, but you literally get what you pay for. The quality is really good. I can’t wait to go there again and try more of their things.
