Delicious pastries but pass on the cake. I love Eiffel Tower. In particular their pastry cooler where they make amazing almond tarts and my most favorite, ganache peaks. I have sampled several other sweets filled with various custards and creams and have fallen in love with all of them. This love of pastries thus prompted me last year to order my birthday cake from here. I decided on a Hazelnut Torte. Unfortunately, the cake was overall blah. It was lacking hazelnut flavor and was dry. I was thoroughly disappointed. I have never sampled any of the ready made cakes in the cooler so I am not sure how those ones compare. I will always go to Eiffel Tower for the scrumptious pastries but will never order a cake again.
Decent prices for cake but a little too sweet. The cakes are well priced here as many are under $20 so definitely less than a lot of the bakeries around town but costs a bit more than a Safeway or Sobey’s cake. There were a lot of shortbread and small cookies for under $1 each here. We ordered a cartoon character birthday cake for my niece and unfortunately the entire cake was overly sweet (and not in a good way). The cake was very pretty and beautifully decorated but the cake was hard to eat because it tasted like pure sugar. I am not a big sweets fan but other people who love sweets thought it was too much. Though the cake was only $18, a good price for a very cute cake so whatever, it was good for pictures and my niece was happy. We’ve only tried the one cake here and I heard that the red velvet is a very popular cake so I’ll give them another chance sometime in the future. The owner was super nice and no pun intended – is super sweet so I’d go back and try another item that will hopefully redeem this place.Parking is on Pembina during non-rush hour times or behind the store or on the side.
