One greatChinese restaurant in the city. The place is tucked in a strip mall along Pembina behind A & W before the bridge going south. The dinner for 2 was tasty anddelicious- just the right portion size. Service was friendly and fast. Parking can be a bit of a challenge. Be back.
My family and I have been coming here for dinner for several years now. They are generally super busy on Friday and weekend nights. The quality of food and reasonable prices makes this place very popular.We came on a weekday evening and the restaurant was consistently 70% full throughout our stay. I like Huang Pu River because they have some very authentic Sichuan food and Cantonese Food dishes. Many of my favorite dishes from both styles of cooking can be found here. They also have a lunch buffet that is pretty reasonable, but with so much selection nearby, I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here for that.The only fault of this restaurant is the service. It’s just that there simply isn’t enough wait staff out front to cope and this is pretty consistent amongst my experiences coming here. The strange thing is, the backside of the house seems to keep up no problem. So as long as you’re not in a rush, this place is worth a try.The food here is genuinely good and the portion sizes are large so they offer exceptional value. They also offer a complementary dessert which is extremely rare nowadays.
