Happened upon this little bistro last week with a handful of friends. What a delightful surprise. The service was impeccable. The food was delicious. We had a variety of menu items, but the lamb kebabs and lambs chops stood out from the rest and the rest was fantastic. The kebabs were beautifully season with crispy lemon potatoes, not those soggy gloopy potatoes that are served in other so called ‘Mediterranean’ establishments. The side salads were dressed wonderfully. Authentic Greek style salad with a thick cut, (not crumbled in) of feta cheese. Their wine selection was complementary to our meals. Desserts from what we were told were brought in from Zen bakery. They were all sampled 😉 Apple jacks, Schmoo tortes and the decedent chocolate cake. Will be going back very soon. I have a party of out-of-towners coming in next month and this will be on our restaurant tour stop.
Indulge is a Mediterranean restaurant that is next to the Agora Food Market. The restaurant itself is not verge large, however, the ambient of it is surprisingly pleasant for a restaurant at a food market. The restaurant serves a large selection of tapas and desserts. I had been back twice in the past month ever since I heard about it. At my visits, I had their Sanagaki (deep fried Kefalograviera cheese, flambed in brandy with a side of salad), Chatcuterie (a selection of cured meats, sausages, and pt served with pickled vegetables and crostini) and Croquetas de Jamn Serrano (Serrano ham and Manchego cheese croquettes). The tapas were perfectly portioned. They were decent for its price point. I absolutely love the dessert selection. They serve cakes, tortes, macaroons, greek desserts such as baklava, and etc. They’re excellent!I would definitely go back again.
The tapas were great, of which we had several kinds of seafood types and I also had the pickerel which I devoured. The atmosphere and staff helped make the place even more enjoyable.
Great little spot. Tapas was excellent. The Greek wine 300 was a nice pairing. Staff were terrific. Going back to try the entrees and check out the store.
Loved the tapas options! Had a spicy shrimp, excellent chorizo, and wonderful chews flamb. Cosmos for one of us, Barking Squirrel on tap for the other. Service was really good – attentive and kind, but not intrusive. Owners were in the restaurant and gave a personal touch to the experience. Would definitely recommend. $100 for the two of us.
I think this place is 3.5 stars – the market is smaller than I expected (maybe it seemed larger on the outside). The market and bistro is a shared space of sorts. The left hand side when you walk in a long aisle of mostly pantry items like coffee, condiments, sauces, etc with a fridge that contained some prepared food and some vegetables. The back had the prepared food which is connected to the kitchen that also produces the Indulge Bistro food. There’s a very small cheese and deli meat section – maybe about 10 selection of cheeses and about 10 of the deli meats. There breads available which I think were brought in and the cakes are from Goodies. The Indulge Bistro is a very nice space with a surprising amount of seating. There’s tables around the perimeter and a bar in the middle. The Mediterranean inspired menu has a nice selection of food and would be good for all palates. The pricing was moderate but when compared to the actual portion size – I felt it was quite pricey. The food quality was good. Gigantes Plaki ($10) -Giant baked lima beans in a garlic-tomato sauce. A surprisingly good starter and I’m not even a fan of beans. It tastes like a bowl of pasta.Lamb chops ($28) – Served with lemon-mint salsa verde and rosemary-lemon roast potatoes. A very delicious lamb dish with a great verde sauce, I wish the portions of the sides were a tad bigger. Chicken Souvlaki ($18) – Grilled lemon-garlic chicken skewer and tzatziki, served with rosemary-lemon roast potatoes. The chicken was very moist and subtle in flavours but very good. It’s too bad that it was just one skewer split into two. It’s one of these dishes where I felt like they should charge me more to give me a larger portion. It felt like an appetizer size.Overall I liked the place but wish their portions would adjust proportionately. The flavours were good but I didn’t feel full when normally at other places with these prices I would feel very satiated.Service was friendly and nice. I like that there’s a family owned business and new bistro to add to this suburban area. I hope for more improvements and to try this place again.
