We basically like the food and find the prices appropriate for most of the dishes. If Stella’s is at all interested in what people think – this is what I would say: – when the restaurant is full why is there music playing in the background? It just makes everyone talk louder – to the point that we leave there with our ears full of the noise around us.- there are usually tables free while there is a crowd at the entrance – often it appears there is not enough staff during busy times. – the service is ok, but the Sherbrook location is the best when it comes to attention to the customers.
Stella’s! Decent little place! I got two dishes, haha. The chicken curry and added garlic shrimp and then the tourtire. The menu is overall great, there’s a lot of variety so everyone will find something they like. Fair prices, love the art on the walls and the food is pretty good. Been here several times and at almost every location. Pretty consistent, I’ve never had a bad experience at any of the locations. Worth a try if you’ve never been here.
Great space! Service was a little slow, but the meal was excellent as per usual. Will come back to experience the rooftop patio when it’s warmer out
Being a huge fan of Stella’s, I knew coming into this i’d have a decent experience. Parking lot was full, but we managed to find street parking right out front. Me and a friend were sat after about a 5-10 minute wait for lunch on a Wednesday. It makes me happy to see a restaurant so busy during the day in the middle of the week. Seriously! I don’t mind waiting the few minutes. We were sat at a nice booth in the well-lit main restaurant dining area. Our waitress was chatty but not intrusive. Very pleasant! The Arnold Palmer i ordered didn’t last after I downed it in just a few seconds. Haha, but it was promptly re-filled. Feeling hungry, I ordered the burger. As stated in one of my other reviews, I judge a place by its burger. And the only thing i didn’t enjoy about this one, was the bread it was served on. I like a classic squishy, soft bun…but the Stella’s burger is served on Rosemary Foccacia, in the shape of a square. Square bread, with round patty….huge nope. Makes for uneven bites. I did love the toppings on the burger though, they were SO flavourful. My friend ordered the Tourtire (he’s from the UK, so meat-in-pastry is also kind of their thing) and he quite enjoyed it. He was taken aback by the sweetness of the cream sauce, but it does state in the description that it’s maple flavoured, so that was his mistake. I couldn’t finish my burger, so not only did he eat all of his plate, but he also finished mine. Tasty potato wedges as well. But what’s with restaurants giving the tiniest ramekins of ketchup? It’s like…a tablespoon of ketchup in there…that’s going to get me through exactly 8 fries at BEST. And I hate being a pain and continually asking for more…just bring me a GD bottle of ketchup! Mmk? Cool, thanks.Oh and as a sidenote, not relating to the service or anything. All this controversy about shared bathrooms…well this Stella’s has a shared bathroom, and it’s the least offensive experience ever. Get used to it everyone! You’ll be OK if you use one, I promise!
Our experience was relatively average at this Stella’s location. The decor and atmosphere was very nice and our server was quite attentive. They had cold brew coffee on special and it was comparable to Starbucks. The omelette came with a large portion of hash browns and toast but it wasn’t anything too special. My partner had the French toast and he found it generic.
Came here with my co-workers for dinner after work a few weeks back. This was the first time I had ever been to Stella’s… I have heard about how their food is for years but never managed to try it out. Well I have now found possibly my new spot for healthy and hearty comfort food. I ordered the Vegan Mexican breakfast and it was so delicious! There is so much going on in this dish and all the flavours work well together. Very yummy. Everyone seemed impressed with their food. I look forward to trying more.
New location. Large, bright and open space, as you’d expect from Stella’s in Winnipeg. Same menu, same prices. But here’s the thing, the patio, please be aware there is not a lot if shade if you go on sunny summer day. And if you expect to eat up there, don’t! There are no proper dinning tables up there, just little coffee tables and these behemoth wicker chairs. I’m sure they’ll realize their folly and make a change, if not I’d skip the patio, if you’re eating. Drinks up there may be just fine. The service was great and the food was typical.
