This restaurant is surrounded by both high level and low level outdoor patio areas. Great if you like eating or having a drink outside. Their clubhouse sandwich is the best I’ve ever eaten.
We ended up in Lockport unexpectedly last night so decided to give Gaffers a try. There was a very large group event going on so we were warned that things might be a bit slow for us, we weren’t in a rush so we were OK with that. I was pleasantly surprised by the interior, it was much nicer than I was expecting, and there were linen napkins and a very classy looking lady hostess. We had a very nice bottle of wine and a very nice shrimp cocktail appetizer. Our mains were quite good although I ordered the seafood rice bowl and instead received what was more like a shrimp dinner with rice and broccoli. The meal came to over $100 but we did have nice shrimp and a decent bottle of wine. After paying I looked at the bill more closely…sure enough I was charged for some sort of shrimp meal that was much more expensive than the seafood rice bowl that I had actually ordered. The charge for the bottle of wine was also $3 more than what the wine list had showed. I decided to let it slide and didn’t say anything but I’ll pay closer attention next time!
We went for breakfast and discovered that they don’t serve a breakfast, but they did have a daily special of a steak & egg wrap, served with fried potatoes, came with sour cream & salsa… I assumed that it was the daily special that it might come to the table in short order.. Nearly 20 minutes elapsed, during which time the server had time to replace our barely lukewarm coffee with slightly hotter.. The potatoes were partially burnt, the wrap bland, with very dark grill marks (dirty grill?).. The accompanying salsa from a jar without any significant flavour.. My wife’s quesadilla had huge chunks of jalapeno – jalapeno peppers should be a seasoning, not in sufficient size or quantity to be an ingredient. Really disappointing, very overpriced..
Gaffer’s Restaurant & Lounge in Lockport is THE best place for a wedding! We had a fabulous time and everything they did was perfect!Naomi made the organizing of this event seem effortless and everything from the wedding ceremony to the Best Roast Beef ever was done to perfection.
Yesterday (June 27, 2015), we celebrated our Anniversary at Gaffers in Lockport. Weve been there many times before to have dinner and we left satisfied most of the time. Yesterday, we were a group of 15 people and it was a most enjoyable evening, thanks to the great food and the personal effort of our server Lynne. She and other staff members made us feel special and welcome.Even though everyone ordered different items from the menu, we didnt have to wait long for our food. Lynne was attentive and efficient. She poured the wine when glasses were nearly empty, she brought me my beer as requested with the meal (I dont like stale beer) and she even took a group picture of us in front of the fireplace.Some of us had the New York cut steak and it was done to perfection. The chicken dishes others ordered were tasty and the ribs tender. And the Prime Rib was superb. Even the kids had a great time and enjoyed their orders.The only complaint we have is about the breadbaskets. There was really nothing there, except for a few slices of bread as large as cocktail bites. Also, a small plate of salad to be included in the price of the meals would make a huge difference.Otherwise, everything was fine. Thank you Lynne and all the others who helped make this a special event for us.We will be back.
Dissappointed. I live in the Lockport area and have visted Gaffers many times…I must say the service was very poor, waited 20 minutes for service and even had to ask for a menu..there was 6 of us for supper with children., Went and got our own drinks at the lounge. Still no one came to get our orders. Walked out, very disappointed in the service. The girl even mentioned you can go to the loung and get served quicker. Really that is your answer. Not sure if we will revisit
