The restaurant was empty, music some sort of chinese pop music and was too loud. The decor is tacky and the furniture and everything is old. Sushi was basic, nothing exceptional. And if you do not finish your sushi there is a price that they dream up to charge you. $$$ for ….

Came here on a Saturday for lunch, around 12:30 and the place was pretty dead. Just 2 other tables. We didn’t do sushi, but wanted to try the Korean menu items that they serve. We had the Bibimbap (mix rice dish) with beef and Gamjatang (pork neck soup). The food took a very long time to come out. The bibimbap was pretty good and the sauce was good as well. But the Gamjatang was not authentic and lack in taste and other ingredients. I’ve had this soup many times before, including in Korea and the one here is a rather poor imitation of the authentic version. The meat was not tender, there was nothing else in the soup, like stewed vegetables and potatoes.

My husband and I are big Sushi fans and have eaten at different Sushi restaurants coast to coast. We’ve even been to Roll’n Pin, twice in October 2013. It was, in our memory, good enough to warrant another visit at the tail end of a long road trip, and we’re pretty picky about our sushi. Now, I’m not sure if there has been a change in ownership or management but this was definitely NOT the same quality of food we enjoyed before. PROS: The service was good and all of the staff were very friendly. The girl serving us was super nice and accommodating even when I sent a plate back. The salmon sashimi was good though thinly sliced and kind of warm. The kimchi was yummy. And the mushroom tempura was also super good. CONS: The tuna was ‘fishy’ which is something you never want your sushi to be. Maybe it was the end of the batch…. Normally, imitation crab isn’t that bad in sushi except when it’s the cheap, shredded, coleslaw version and not the bigger chunks. And that’s exactly what they used, the shredded kind. They also put their imitation crab in everything as a filler, even the rolls that didn’t list crab as an ingredient. After sending the salmon-tempura-fish roe + unwanted shredded crab back I tried ordering a ‘safer’ option: beef udon soup. And it was so sweet and filled with tempura crumbs that I had to first try and balance out the sweet with a ton of soya sauce… But soon enough the tempura crumbs soaked up most of the liquid. They ground the tuna that was supposed go top one of the rolls…. Usually it’s just a small sashimi-like piece on top but this was turned into kind of a paste and spread in a thin layer… Kind of like the hotdog paste you get after peeling the outer layer off… The last time we were here we ordered beer but I don’t think they have a bar option anymore (according to the Internet). I forgot to check if this was true though. OVERALL:It wasn’t an entirely bad experience. The service is very good and the Korean food is probably good based on their kimchi. Just… Don’t order the sushi if you like sushi.

Don’t order delivery from here. I ordered delivery, waiting an hour and a half, called the restaurant and they said it would be another 20 minutes, called another 45 minutes later to be told they had left to deliver the food. Called back 20 minutes later to cancel the order and they said it would be another 20 minutes. Awful service, they lied to me 3 times. Will never order from here again

Do NOT order. Wouldn’t feed it to my cat. Cheap imitation crab in all the rolls. Mushy old salmon clearly not fresh. Thinly sliced rolls with no caviar. Will not and do no recommend.

Charming authentic Korean food which was excellent value. Was pleasantly surprised to have found an authentic place for yummy Korean food run by a Local Korean family. This family did not westernize their menu to cater to Brandonites….what a relief as many in town have done so. If this was in Calgary, I would be eating here every week. Brandonites don’t know what they have. This place is right awesome and worth checking out.We had Babim bop, pork back soup, beef bulgogi, spicy scallop roll, oyshi roll, shrimp tempura. All of this comes highly recommended.
