Update: second time around was so much better. The cold noodles were consistently good again. The warm noodles we tried without the pork and they were much more tasteful, the chilli oil came through better. We tried the twice fried green beans and they had so much flavour, and although a little over salted, it added to the spice and garlic ground pork. We also tried the pan fried egg noodles and added diced chicken and scrambled egg. The chicken was a little rubbery and the whole dish unfortunately had a little bit of burnt oil flavour. Other than that, the chilli oil that we asked to add was phenomenal. So much flavour and a good amount of heat, not unbearable. Glad I went back! Well, this place is unique. The cold noodles are probably the highlight but some people at our dinner couldnt get over the strange texture of a cold noodle. The warm noodles didnt have the same flavour, or didnt hold the heat and spices as well. The cumin noodles were just that- doused in an unbelievable amount of cumin. Overwhelming amount compared to no other spices being present. The peppery chicken was super-bony cuts of unrecognizable chicken parts layered in about 100 dried chilli peppers. There heat was medium and the flavour seemed only from the deep fryer. The bones and cartilage were very off-putting. Want to go back to try other things but tough to do when the prices are around $17 per dish! Havent found a dish here yet that I would strongly recommend.

One of the best, and only, authentic Chinese restaurants in the city. The beef brisket and potatoes, and the hand-torn noodles with lamb and cumin are always a favourite!

Our first visit to this restaurant, and to be honest, I was a bit skeptical when my friend told me that it serves very authentic Xi’an cuisine. The decor is pretty standard and nothing special, I find the menu quite impressive, with very good quality pictures of the menu items. It could use better description of the items in English though. We ordered the fried lamb thin noodles with cumin, the spicy park hand torn noodles and also tried the cold gluten noodles to start. All the dishes were delicious and the fried noodles with cumin had a very strong aroma but when you eat it, it actually was not overwhelming at all and very tasty. I would’ve liked the hand torn noodles to be smaller as I find it a bit difficult to eat with such wide and long strands. I expected it to be spicier but good nonetheless. I’m planning to come back and try some main dishes next!

Delicious food, terrible service. We were one of the first groups to arrive for lunch but almost the last ones served. Most of the Chines groups that arrived after us we’re served first.

Been here twice and service and food were good, prompt and fast. Although my Chinese friend who tasted authentic Chinese food in China said it’s just alright but I think the food is satisfying but not totally great.I think my fave here would be the Beef Brisket Noodle Soup. I usually get the thin noodle but will definitely try the wide noodle next time. The Xi’an hand-pulled noodles was ok. Not super good but might be a bit spicy for me. The noodles were perfect though, still al dente. The stewed pork burger was good but a bit oily, like dripping in oil and while the pulled pork was soft and juicy, it tasted like spam/luncheon meat for some reason. I’ll definitely come back here and try their other menu.

Golden Loong is nothing short of exemplary! The employees are wonderful and friendly and they remember me every time I come in! The food is delicious, flavourful and the portion sizes make the entres very reasonably priced. I would give this 6 out of 5 if I could!

ordered the pulled noodle beef soup and the spicy eggplant dish. This place was a miss for us. The soup was full of inedible and fatty brisket, then the noodles where just OK. The eggplant dish was too spicy and overpriced for what we got. It was $16.95 for one cut up eggplant with bad tasting sauce. Like I mentioned this place was not great.
