This unpretentious family restaurant on Provencher Blvd offers good food in simple, clean surroundings. We had Kung Pao chicken, and curry shrimp from the spicy portion of the menu with Shanghai noodles, all of which were most enjoyable. It deserves better than 3.2.
Just received our order. OMG!! Sooo good!! I am currently in the food service industry and have been for over a decade so I like to think I can appreciate good quality and fair prices. We ordered the deluxe Singapore noodles, curry shrimp and Cantonese chow me in. My husband whom often finds chinese food too salty said everything was perfectly seasoned, the shrimps were very plump n cooked perfectly and you could accually taste the different flavors in each dish, unlike some resturants in the city. Food was soo good I actually had to call the resturant and let them know that they did a fab job !! Hands down 6/ 5 lol
Extensive menu, reasonable prices, decent portion sizes, and very tasty! I placed an order for takeout and it was ready quite quickly. Piping hot and nicely packed in a paper bag, as well as a plastic one, so it didn’t leak anywhere. I’d order from here again.
My boyfriend and I usually try out different Chinese restaurants. I was browsing through show and save book and stumbled upon this coupon buy two entrees get third free. We were near the area so decided to check it out. We compare price to food portion to food quality. 🙂 After we had our first couple bites…we almost melted in our seats because of how good their Chinese food was!! I requested only a little bit of msg. Also they only served soft noodle chow mein and I had asked if they can turn the soft noodle to crispy which they had no problem doing!!! SOOO GOOD! Most dishes are under 10 dollars and their portions are bigger than most Chinese restaurants. Will definitely be going there again!! And again! Lastly.. The ambience is okay. Nice and clean. Typical small friendly Chinese restaurant. Too bad they close early. (10pm) I’m sure once more and more people find out about this hidden gem they can extend their hours. 🙂
Thought we would try a new place. Wife saw them on the way home. And man I am glad she did. The best I have have had in the city so far! Everything was piping hot. Meats we’re tender. And everything was very tasty! And as a bonus, they still have pork filled wontons!! When I got home we realized they forgot to put in one of the dishes. I called and they were very sorry and delivered the dish within 10-15 minutes. Things happen and they were very good at rectifying the mistake. Can’t wait to order from here again!
We went for the buffer. The cost was $8.85 ($10 after tax) and included your drink (coffee, pop). The food was tasty enough and there was a reasonable selection. The consome soup was bland. Like most of these buffets, it’s heavy on the salt but for the price for AYCE, I’m not complaining. The service was extremely friendly, fast and courteous. I will definitely be back when craving some chinese food.
Menu has a lot of the standards you’d expect of a Canadian Chinese restaurant. Everything I ordered was solid. The ginger beef was the best I’ve had in a long time – very tender beef in a nice sauce, not deep-fried and dry. Honey lemon chicken had a nice thin crispy coating, with a sweet sauce on the side. Shanghai noodles were very tasty – with a tiny bit of a kick. Overall, I enjoyed everything that I ordered, and while nothing was particularly adventurous, it was all quite good. Definitely will be ordering again.
