I just finished eating dinner from Sushi Daruma and I was disappointed in the food. I noticed a decline in the food quality since the last time I ate there. Rice was mushy, over seasoned and hard to swallow. How ever they have excellent staff and a great atmosphere.
I end up at this restaurant frequently as there are so few dining options in the East Kildonan area, but it is always just mediocre. The fish often tastes less than fresh and the menu is very much the typical North American Sushi fare of 15 years ago. I wish they had ramen or takayuki. The atmosphere is nice however and they do have WIF.I The service is friendly and efficient. It is a bit overpriced, especially the lunch combos.
