Overrated. Friendly service, fair prices, but terrible burgers. I don’t get the hype around these burgers…I find them to be extremely bland. I’ve been to the Riverbend and Main street location and wasn’t impressed. Fries are good, and it is a great place for ice cream, but I would never want a burger from here again.

July 6th. A friend asked me to go try this place tonight.. its been 2.5 hrs since we ate and my burger feels like a heavy lump n my belly. We ordered the 2 burger & 2 fries deal. What a great price! My patty had a decent flavour but was so over cooked it was dry and crunchy. The burger came with 3 pickle slices some white onion and mustard. My french fries were cooked and crispy but my friends were not. Her patty was thicker than mine but just as over cooked. Neither of us will be returning.

First time trying the wings. We are frequent customers at Burger Bend (wish they could be open all year round). They have now introduced chicken wings to their menu. There is a huge variety of flavours. I tried the Buffalo ones today. The wings were well cooked with a great combination of crispy and sticky texture and a lot of flavour. They had ‘heat’ but it was not excessive. Next week I’m going for the Frank’s Extra Red Hot!

Low Budget Burger. As a self-proclaimed burger expert and foodie id not like it , the burger I got was over cooked (burnt) and they use those too common cheap buns that fall apart. In my opinion a good burger starts with a good bun, it is the vessel of the the meal and should not crumble on the first bite. That is just the sign of a restaurant using cheap ingredients. Try Blondie’s down the street.

One of Winnipeg’s Best Burger Joints. Burger Bend is a diminutive restaurant which is lost behind the signage and large size of its neighbor, Scoops Ice Cream. After accidentally driving past this restaurant a few times I finally managed to find it. Stylized in a similar layout to VJ’s, there is an indoor order area but all dining is outdoors or take-out.Service was friendly and polite.During this outing I sampled the double fatboy w/bacon minus chili ($5.99+0.99). The fatboys come with onions, pickles, mustard, mayo, shredded lettuce, tomato, chili and although not listed on the menu, cheese. The facts that the burger meat is fresh and that the burger:meat ratio was perfect definitely put this eatery amongst the elite of Winnipeg’s burgers. Those who enjoy bacon should definitely get the add-on because it paired perfectly with the meat and unlike many other burgers, did not get lost in the textures and flavors of the rest of the burger.I highly recommend this eatery to burger enthusiasts because it more than holds its own against many of Winnipeg’s greatest burgers such as Mrs.Mike’s and VJ’s. Although it is cash only, the prices are quite competitive with other burger places. Overall, it may be difficult to find but it’s well worth it!

I discovered burger bend last summer and have been waiting all winter for this moment, in which I am sitting on their patio enjoying a double cheeseburger. I’ve spoken with the owners and they make their burger patties 100% fresh, with meat delivered that morning. It is the best burger in town. The only thing that would make burger bend better is if it were open later.
