Not really like a donut, I didn’t expect them to be like a donut, they are not soft and moist like a yeast donut. Because they are a South American treat they have a different taste and texture that we are not use to. Overall I would say they are good, IMO the ones with the filling are better than the ones without. Yes I would eat them again.
I tried the food truck on Canada Day because I’d seen it blogged about a lot in Winnipeg. My verdict is that they’re not very good churros as they’re very pale yellow color not brown like most and they’re very expensive but the ones with custard and dulce de leche were actually pretty good because of the sauces, and the raspberry sauce dip was also really good but it was runny and such a tiny container of it, for the cost give me more sauce!!

I’d never tried a churro before and I’ll have to do it again if this is any indication of their tastiness. They were a little crispy on the outside and nice and warm and soft on the inside and the maple syrup was divine. I actually would like to go back and ask what kind it was anyway as I’ve never had better. Cute little place, nice customer service and 5 churros for $5!
Went to the Forks today and was so excited when I saw the churros truck. I have never had churros before, so this review would be based on my first experience with it.I purchased the 3 for $5 filled churros, which comes in Bavarian cream or dulce de leche. I decided to get two of the dulce de leche and one Bavarian cream. They also offer 5 regular churros for $5, or 3 churros and a dip for $5. For dipping sauces, they have saskatoon berry, choke cherry, raspberry, blueberry, chocolate, and maple syrup.First of all, the churros were quite small (about 5 – 6 inches). The ones I’ve seen before on social media and food shows are usually quite long. Second, there really wasn’t much filling in the churros. Most of it was at the top where the opening is. As for taste, the churros was a bit dense and it was covered in sugar. From what my husband told me (who had churros before), he described his past churro experiences as being light, fluffy, and covered in cinnamon sugar. The Bavarian cream one was good, but the dulce de leche one was just too sweet for us.Overall, I thought it was good, but it wasn’t totally amazing as I had hoped it to be.
This food truck was parked along Broadway and I decided to give it a try. It appears to be a one man operation. The operator was friendly and I had my churros within two minutes of ordering them.Churros are like thin rectangular donuts with crispy ridges. The taste reminds me somewhat of a mini donut. Each one is about four inches long and they are sold in groups of 3 or 5. You have the option of five plain churros for $5 or you can get three filled churros for $5. In addition, you can get three churros with your choice of dipping sauce for $5. I can’t recall all of the dipping sauces, but they included chocolate, raspberry and maple syrup. The choices for filled churros are dulce de leche (caramel) or Bavarian cream. You are allowed to mix and match the filled churros. I tried two dulce de leche and one Bavarian cream. The dulce de leche was my favourite. The churros were served warm and the gooey caramel was a nice complement to the crisp churro. The Bavarian cream had a nice flavour, but it simply paled in comparison. While I don’t usually eat dessert at lunch, it was a nice, quick snack for a decent price. I would not hesitate to try this food truck again.
Good churros from a South American guy who knows how to make it at areasonable price. You’ll have different choices withthe dips. Tried churros from otherrestaurants in Winnipegbut not as good as this. This isa food truck and they usually parked at the Forks or along Broadway.
