my husband and myself went here for dinner. the service was decent and the appetizers were good. we had the sausage and cheese board and dumplings. our meals were much less appetizing, the shrimp tacos and their largest steak. the steak came out grey in colour and unevenly cooked although it was the same thickness throughout. they replaced it with a sirloin which was smaller but much better.- I didn’t complain about my tacos. I’d go back but only for drinks and apps
Incredibly Disappointed today. Wondering if this place is on the rocks. Service was incredibly slow. 40 minutes to get 2 appetizers and only 1 was worth eating. Asian lettuce wraps served with penne pasta instead of soba? I’ve been fairly regular since they opened but not sure I’ll be back. Also my wife had aCaesar that was very strange , like a full once of Worcestershire in it.
My husband & I had the most wonderful experience for lunch here today. The bartender was our server, and he was awesome! Our food was delicious & came out promptly, & the atmosphere was alive & inviting. We’re both very happy to have Rockwood in our growing suburban area. Thank you!
Food is delicious and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend it. We were in the lounge area, and the environment was inviting, casual and enjoyable.
Discovered this restaurant a few months back and have been 3-4 times since. Good food, comfortable venue, although we sat in the dining room last night (usually sit in the lounge) and left smelling like we had been sat around a campfire thanks to the wood smoker in the kitchen.That aside, enjoyable evening and will return.
Tried a second time tonight and like our first time it was hit and miss. My husband ordered the fish and chips which was very good. I on the other hand missed again, the first time we went I ordered the steak and was extremely disappointed with an over cooked dry steak, and this time I ordered the Caesar salad which was also a major disappointment. I was expecting an actual salad and instead got a romaine heart cut in half and the tips blackened slathered in a horrible Caesar salad dressing that was extremely sweet and bagged croutons were on it. Even worse the lettuce in the middle was brown and slimy so I stopped eating it altogether at that point. How can they even wash the lettuce properly if its just halved? For the price you pay for the salad I cant understand why they would use such cheap tiny croutons. We also ordered the steak tips with horseradish dipping sauce for an appetizer and while the steak was overcooked the dip was tasty. The best part of my meal ended up being my sangria. The last time the best part of my meal was the drink as well – a mojito. The service was good. The place is way too noisy though. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone and having tried it twice with both times two misses I wouldnt go back again.
Went here with my husband around when it first opened. Nice atmosphere. We waited almost one hour for our food. I ordered something that I cannot remember now as it was just alright. My husband ordered a steak dish medium rare. It came well done. We sent it back and had to wait another 15 mins for food. It returned as medium rare. We ate it as we were starving. The manager did not compensate for their mistake. Any other restaurant would have either discounted or copped the bill for their mistake. Disappointing. We spent a lot of money. Not going back. Not recommending to anyone. Should be better to their customers especially when first starting out…
