  China City is a tiny restaurant that can easily be missed because of its location and non-flashy sign. And by no means I want them to change that because I’m absolutely happy with their current price range. Their menu is quite similar to other Chinese restaurants in the neighborhood, but their quality is a bit more consistent. I order for pickup quite often here and there’s really nothing to complain about. My favorite dishes here include egg foo young, seafood chow mein and mixed veggies with shrimp. Highly recommended.

  Quite amazing! It is in an area with side to side small stores…not a fancy area. But once you get through their door you enter a huge restaurant set up in a way that makes you think you’re in Hollywood. Multi layers, padded seating, etc. Looks like a great area to hold a wedding reception. Waitress was A+ and the food was very good. Prices same as the regular Chinese restaurants.

  My earlier review and a number of others that used to be here are gone. There is no mentionof the most important news: China City was recently closed by Manitoba health inspectors because of an infestation of rodents. It took management four whole days to clean them out!! Nice place!

  Went for the buffet so I can only comment on that.The buffet choices were underwhelming as there were only 8 items to choose from. One was rice one was noodles so that left just six items (IMO not very much to choose from), chicken balls, a spicy chicken dish, a sweet and sour pork, and a couple of veggie dishes. The taste was better than mall food but was not amazing. Would I go back, probably not. Still have the best Chinese food in my neighborhood and compared to them this place is not even close.

  Really bad!. Ordered food through Skip the Dishes from this restaurant. It arrived in a timely manner, however it was really bad. Anything fried tasted like old, rancid oil. Nothing tasted freshly made – even the rice felt like it had been warmed up in the microwave. We ordered quite a bit of food ($80!) expecting to have leftovers, but we threw it out it was so bad. The mushroom fried rice had about 2 pices of mushroom in it. It was not at all worth the money and I would certainly not order from here again.

  Lacklustre service. I called ahead to confirm the time their buffet closes, the caller said 2:30pm. As I approached the building at 2:05pm, the outside sign regarding buffet also said 2:30pm. When I entered the restaurant and said I was having buffet, the server said I can have what’s left of the buffet – old, dry, remanents of food – but they will not make fresh food as buffet is closed. I explained that I called ahead and was told buffet was on until 2:30pm so why wouldn’t they make fresh food. The server again said I could have what’s left and then argued with the man at the desk whom had been the one to answer the phone and told me 2:30pm. I then said I was going to leave, and the man showed me their combo plates I could order instead, which are about the same price as buffet. I got combo c, which came with standard veg, rice and egg roll, but only 4 breaded shrimp, which were mostly dough! Usually in combos, the meat/seafood should be at least 6 pieces. The meal was mostly rice. If I was able to have buffet, I could have less of the rice and more of what I wanted. The taste was underwhelming, I wasn’t asked what I’d like to drink, and there was no one else here. That should have tipped me off to go elsewhere.

  Mobile review. Very salty! All the meat portions were extremly small. We ordered the beef ginger and it was awful. Would not order from here again.
