Good food, reasonable prices and a step back in time. The Assiniboine Gordon Inn’s Fireside Dining Room served me the best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had – perfect Hollandaise sauce is hard to find, eggs poached perfectly also takes a skilled hand in the kitchen, and they’ve got it.Atmosphere-wise, the restaurant is a step back in time to a 70’s family restaurant. I get the sense that almost nothing has changed in the place in 30 years, and I like it that way.I also LOVE all the servers – they’re older, plucky ladies with a sense of humour and a lot of skill, thoughtfulness an patience. I’ve been there with large groups and these ladies know how to manage a crowd.
