Food was fantastic, owners were lovely, had a great time there although they should really look into the staff. When I went there to eat, there were about two other tables, and the only waitress – a tall girl with blonde and purple hair – was constantly on her phone and sitting down at a table in the with a boy – safe to assume her boyfriend? – she didn’t even notice that my water was empty most of the time. I noticed the other tables staring too but I decided to not say anything because while the staff could use a little work the food was amazing and this little restaurant is definitely a hidden gem.
Stopped in to try their clubhouse as it had a good review on another site. While I do give them credit for having real meat in the sandwich, it was otherwise unremarkable. The fries were a bit soggy, but the salad was decent.
I made a reservation for 10 to 12 people and ended up with 14… but this wasn’t a problem for the staff! They were extremely efficient and very friendly, not even rushing us after closing time. I was very impressed with the service and the food was very tasty… especially the home-made onion rings. If you like onion rings, then you should really try this place!
What a terrible terrible experience. I was disgusted by the service and food. First when we first sat down, didn’t get a menu or water for 5 minutes. When we did get our menu, she put them on the table and walked away. She didn’t even say hello or welcome. Then the people next to us sat down and we welcomed with smiles and got menu’s and water right away. (Found out they were friends of the owners). My husband got ribs and half Greek and half fries and I got the chicken fettuccine Alfredo and a salad. My salad had 3 croutons and 1 bacon bit and was very bland. The man next to us got the same order as my husband and the man’s order had a massive slab of ribs and lots of fries and Greek salad. When my husband’s order came (after 45 minutes, no water and there was only 5 people in the restaurant). His order had a very tiny slab of ribs, little to no meat and thin. He barely got half and half salad and fries compared to the man next to us. My Alfredo was cold, bland and my noodles were hard. The chicken in the pasta was bland and only 4 very tiny pieces. Wasted 38 dollars on crappy food and disgusted service. Will never go back and will tell everyone to never waste their time there.
After trying to get a table at a local Greek favorite, Olympia Diner and being told the wait was an hour, we decided to go down the road to Gus and Tony’s. My parents had previously had a bad meal there, but I convinced them to go based on the good prices and extensive menu options I saw online. It was a Saturday night, so it was reasonably busy. There were never less than 5 other tables in the restaurant. I ordered the gyros with the lemon chicken rice soup. I really enjoyed the gyros, but the soup was not my favorite. I forgot to take a photo because I started eating so fast. Both of my parents got chicken souvlaki with potatoes and rice which they enjoyed, and Greek salad. The rice and salad were also good, next time I would get the salad instead of the soup. There were only two servers on, but it wasn’t noticeably slow or anything. The gyros by itself was $8.25 and the soup was $3.99, good prices and you can customize your sides as you wish. My parents, who had a negative experience here before both said they really enjoyed it and were impressed at how the food and atmosphere has changed. We will definitely be back.
Me and my parents came here to eat about a year ago, place was fantastic and we all agreed that Gus and Tony’s was slightly better than the burger joint down the road (whose quality had admittedly been slipping the past few times) Last week me and my dad decided to stop by Gus and Tony’s on a Saturday at 7:40PM, place was empty and there were just two kids working. We decided to do take out and ordered 1 Chili dog, 2 double cheeseburger deluxe’s and an order of fires. All this came to around $30 and took about 15mins to make. Me and dad decided we couldn’t wait to get home and preceded to dig in, the Fires were good and of the expected quality that you would get at the other joints nearby. Everything after the fries went horribly wrong, the burger was missing everything except the quarter sized dab of chili, 4 pieces of onion and a slim pickle unceremoniously thrown on the side, bun was dry, meat tasted funny (kind of sweet) absolute worst burger I have had. Hotdog was not much better and had more relish than anything else. Moms burger was the same and went to the dogs. With all that said, I’m chalking this up to a live and learn experience and will be driving right by this place from now on. As Jim said that are plenty of other places in WPG to have a better burger and at least 2 places are within minutes of this place.
Not that good. Had their cheeseburger deluxe (fatboy) and fries. Burger bun was dry. Toppings were skimpy. Fries were cold and greasy. There are 10+ other places to enjoy a great burger in Wpg. See other reviews.
