Great ice cream joint. Delightful selections of hard ice cream, frozen cakes and soft serve/frozen yogurts. Super yummy sundaes, flurry selections, banana splits and sidewalk sundaes. Pumpkin spice soft serve for a limited time only every fall. And yes, it tastes so good and creamy because it’s REAL soft serve NOT ice milk (We are talking to you Dairy Queen). Mrs. Hitter especially appreciates the opportunity to get frozen yogurt sundaes/flurries as they are easier on the lactose-challenged. A St James institute for a reason.
Love the strawberry sundae and banana split here. It is not too sweet. Soft vanilla ice-cream serve topped with banana and peanut in a sweet, tart strawberry sauce and chocolate syrup.
The best birthday cake ice cream I’ve ever had. That’s it. I don’t even know what else to say. It was that good (and so was the waffle cone)!
Sargent Sundae is a local ice cream store that’s well loved by Winnipeggers. It’s only opened in the summer. I always make a point to come here at least once a year, it is hands down one of my favourite ice cream places in town. Sargent Sundae is known for their hard ice cream but they do have a great selection of soft ice cream too! Since it’s located across from the Assiniboine Park, it makes a perfect hangout spot for families, friends and couples! This place is always packed! You know it’s good when you honestly don’t recall not seeing a lineup here! I would highly recommend you to check it out if you’ve never been!
Pumpkin Pie soft serve. Need I say more?No.But I will! The pumpkin Pie soft serve is my favorite flavor of ice cream ever! It’s like having pumpkin pie cheesecake covered in whipped cream and frozen. Just love it! The Sundae’s are great. When you ask for extra nuts, they really give you extra! The ice cream is thick and creamy. Lots to choose from, from flurries, to sundaes, to ice cream cakes, basic cones and so much more. They are often busy but their staff is quick and professional, getting through orders as fast as they can.
Nice enough place. Always nice to have a choice between the soft and hard ice cream as well as some soft ice cream desserts. Pleasant staff as well.
Have gone here so many times. But what is a turtle flurry to you? One would assume tons of chocolate, pecans and caramel. But nope, definitely not what I got! Instead, I got vanilla ice cream with a bunch of pecans thrown in. So disappointed! I love going to Sargent Sundae but honestly will never pay $5 again for a stupid flurry, rather go to DQ or McDonald’s. Step up your flurry game, guys!
