Sushi Edoichi used to be my favourite sushi place and i was loyal customer every week.Everything changed when they hired new guy couple weeks ago. Sushi is not good like it used to be, flavour is different and less intense, rolls and portions are smaller and miso soup is really bad oversalted everytime. I will be back there only if they bring old, good team!
Very good food, generous sized sushi rolls for the price. Everything tasted very fresh and was very nicely put together. We ordered a platter that was only about $30 and they threw in soup, salad and sushi pizza for free. Would’ve been worth it anyway but with the free stuff it was an amazing bargain. Definitely ordering from here again.
Pros: Friendly staff. Generous since they provided a complimentary dish. Avocado was very fresh.Cons: The tuna sashimi was not fresh as it had a fishy taste with a slightly soggy texture. I had to spit out my second piece. I could only finish one of of my 2 unagi pieces for the same reason. The tempura that was ordered was very greasy and reminded me of deep fried food you get at carnivals. The general comments were that it wasn’t seasoned properly. And last but not least, the sushi rice was not properly seasoned. It was overcooked and therefore also had a soggy texture. I had high hopes of finding a new sushi place but was very disappointed.
I’ve walked by this place with my fianc and it’s a small store/ shop. We always wondered about the sushi. I ordered via skip the dishes for the first time to try it out. I wasn’t disappointed. Everything tasted fresh and presentation was great! No complaints. Right amount of rice ratio to filling. And the rice was the way sushi rice should be. Will definitely order again. I included a picture but I also ate a few pieces because I couldn’t wait :p it’s definitely a hidden gem.*I ordered a dynamite roll, tuna maki and bakudan salmon roll.Update August 2017:since this review I’ve skipped the dishes 5 more times with them and every single time it tasted fresh and crunchy when it when it gets to me. Until I move, which is unfortunate-I will always order from here for my quick sushi fix. Looks good and tastes good, great combination.
July 2017: Ordered shrimp tempura and a medium sushi tray which has 9 rolls of your choosing (reg rolls). Reasonable prices, friendly staff and good take out sushi. -May 2017: Love this place. I may be their biggest fan lol. Always friendly staff. Sushi is quite tasty and I will continue to visit for take out sushi —-Came here a few weeks ago after my husband and I are we’re craving sushi. After previous visits here that had a good experience on each visit – we decided to visit again. One thing I noticed is they increased there prices on the party trays. At first I thought awe man but at the same time they had a ridiculously good price on party trays compared to other places. So about $8-10 added. It’s still well priced. I believe if not mistaken the medium tray is $49.99 for 9 regular or veggie rolls. The staff here are very friendly. The sushi isn’t fishy tasting, portions are good, not overkill on rice, filling and rice perfect amounts of each. My only complaint with my order was there wasn’t enough soya sauce given for 9 rolls (two small containers). The medium tray is easily good enough for 3-4 people. I will continue to come here for take out sushi.
