Food has never been much of a problem. Theyve maintained Johns original recipe from back in the 80s. Sadly the problem was the unacceptable content they had playing on the public television. It shocked me that anyone would watch such filth let alone streamIt in a public place with all walks of life present including children. Owners should be ashamed . This is the main reason for the 2 star rating, sorry
Best burger place in Winnipeg no question!!! Classic burger with Chili, pickles, onions, and mustard. Homemade burger… Homemade fries. Cannot beat it!
Burgers are good there. Went a few weeks back and there was 2 kids working. Ordered a poutine to go and when I got home, garbage can. Gravy was like glue, worst poutine I ever tried. Watch your shop.
I was expecting more out of this place as it has such good reviews. Finally made it there to try it last night. While the fries were fantastic i was not impressed with the deluxe burger. The lettuce looked like it was old (very light green…yellowish). The bun fell apart after i had 2 bites. I couldn’t eat the burger without a fork and knife as it was falling apart with each bite. The patty was huge and filling for a great price however it didn’t have much flavor…Very plain. So i filled up on the fries. I may go back and try it again not any time soon.
Seriously the best burgers I have ever had!! I’ve tried many of the menu items and haven’t found a single thing I didn’t love. Portions are huge and decently priced, toppings on burgers/hot dogs are generous, staff is friendly. The banana milkshakes are amazing! Definitely worth checking out.
Excellent place to go in St. James especially since there’s not very many old school burger joints in West Winnipeg. I really appreciate that they have a veggie burger option (not many do) and their poutine is delicious. The staff are always friendly and there doesn’t seem to be a high turnover rate which speaks volumes.
not to bad….chicken burger was ok….double burger was not bad…fries were great till ketchup was put on….tasted like it was a cheap brand
