Ordered takeout delivery from Tony Romas (St.James). Had to use Mobile Maitre D service. Order was screwed up. My sides were supposed to be French Fries and gravy and got mashed potatoes and gravy. LOL the gravy container was bigger than the mashed potatoes and wasn’t very good. No cutlery for any of the three meals we ordered. Called Mobile Maitre D and they suggested getting cutlery from hotel desk. French fries would be another hour to deliver. Nice! $60 subpar meal. Beware, no quality control.
– Awefull sauce for the onion loaf -Let me be clear, the reason I go to Tony Romas is for the Kickin Shrimp and the Onion Loaf appetizers. This time the sauce that came with the onion loaf tasted like someone just mixed mayo & ketchup together. Did not enjoy it.At the end of the meal the waitor tells me that it’s an option to get the ‘original’ sauce with the onion loaf. ‘Why’ wasnt I informed ‘Before’ I ate it?!? He kindly told me I could have onion loaf with the ‘original sauce’ next time I come. I am so annoyed right now, Im telling myself that were never going there again. In my opinion, he should have offered the appetizer for free, or given us a voucher for a free one on a future visit. I would’ve been happy, I’d be going again, and this review wouldn’t exist.
For me, Tony Roma’s never disappoints. I hadn’t been to this location in years but came for drinks and appetizers recently and what we tried was excellent. We had calamari, kicking shrimp and of course, the onion loaf and all were delicious. Service was also good, I wouldn’t say excellent but good. I’ll be back.
Went for lunch the other day with co-workers. We ordered fish & chips, half order of ribs with mashed potatoes, and I had the special which was the spinach stacked chicken breast with broccoli and rice pilaf. Everyone else’s food was great except for mine which consisted a bland parboiled rice with chopped up carrots completely void of any seasonings of herbs, plain steamed broccoli, and what was supposed to be one chicken breast was actually sliced in half so 1/2 a chicken breast smeared with goat cheese freezer burnt frozen spinach that was completely inedible and bread crumbs on the top. Everything was completely void of even salt and pepper. I did say something to the server but with the rush of an hour for lunch it was too late to change my order. So I ended up paying full price with no apologies or even speak with the manager. I did ask the waiter to say something to the cooks but that was ignored and he hung out behind the bar until we left. I did take the leftovers home for my dog though….which he wouldn’t eat….I think that says it all pretty much.
Service was fast and friendly! Food was exactly how we wanted it and although pricey totally worth it. Pictured below is their seafood pasta, spicy but a huge portion and was just as great the next day for lunch.
A restaurant I continue to visit for their exceptional hospitality, lengthy drink menu and consistent eats. It was too cold to sit on the patio this evening but I’ll be returning shortly to enjoy the summer nights and cold beverages.
The fam and I usually come here on birthdays or if we are really hungry. Lots of food on a plate. The kickin shrimp and the onion loaf is fxxxxing amazing. The steak is just ok. I keep getting it thinking itll be different but its always the same. Consistency in food is a plus here. Oh and the ribs a great.
