Great intimate sushi place with a warm feel.The owners are welcoming and sushi is great for a reasonable price. My favourite roll here is the Tempura Yam roll. The salmon teriyaki roll did taste a bit too fishy.
This place is an ABSOLUTE RIP OFFFFF, Everybody,,,, DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.. They have misleading advertising and try to rip you off when you order the good Salmon and Tuna.. An absolute JOKE of a sushi place… There are much much better in the city,, Stay away.
I feel badly for a poor review, but every time I go the service is just horrible. We are typically the only ones in the restaurant and there’s usually 1-2 servers. I will see them on their cell phones, or chatting away with each other and not paying attention when we want/need something, or to take our order. And when we do get service, I find them quite abrupt and not at all friendly or pleasant. It is a business that mostly relies on takeout, I will give them that, but even the quality of the food is quite poor. I’ve been a handful of times due to it being the only sushi place close/walking distance from my house. After my latest experience there, i have just had enough. The convenience is no longer worth the poor food, and even poorer service.
This place smells like deep fryer, a real turn off when you are craving fresh fish. I don’t know where to begin…Realistically, i’ve eaten sushi ~300 times in my life. This was easily one of the bottom 10 experiences. Tuna sashimi was paper thin, tempura shrimp was actually panko breaded, scallops were extremely fishy… just cover it with a lemon slice!?!? That’s the equivalent of being served a dirty plate covered with chopped parsley to hide the finger smudges. Chicken katsu was made with IQF chicken, left to dry out under a heat lamp. The man and woman working there were quite friendly and are trying to make a living, which makes me feel bad for writing this review. But at the end of the day, most of us work very hard for our money and i’d feel bad if any other unsuspecting customers spent their money here. Oh yeah, they didn’t have any plain steamed rice either.
I enjoyed my gyoza and the three rolls I ordered (shiitake, tempura shrimp, chopped scallop.) Very reasonably priced and they have a coupon in the Show & Save book to boot. The presentation was lovely as well.On the downside, I had to wait half an hour for the few things I ordered and I also didn’t get much soya sauce for the 18 pieces of sushi. The little plastic container wasn’t even half full.Overall, this is a good place for quality takeout at a decent price.
I really like the sushi here, we actually went out this time to the restaurant Friday night, we actually live down the street but we have always gotten take out. They are always so friendly and make you feel welcome. The only complaint was the grease smell in the air, we walked out stinking like oil.
I order from Sato at least once a month and I have never been disappointed with the food, it’s always great. Sometimes they are little slow in getting the order made but it is a small restaurant.
