Was out in Selkirk the other day. Ordered the Hungry Man Breakfast. Piles of food for the price. Unfortunately the four different meats served with the breakfast all seemed to be of the cheapest quality available. Still a pretty good buy for the money, but can’t see myself making a second trip out to Selkirk for another visit. diningwithdonald.com
the owner of this restaurant is extremely rude, which is too bad, since the food is good and the rest of the staff is friendly. Have been going to this place for years but the new owner has ruined it for my family.
Lunch take out. Shrimp was hard and difficult to chew. Cod was uncooked and raw batter. Called to ask for refund or replacement. They offered me one piece of cod after spoiling a whole meal. Then they offered me fries and cod. Not worth collecting it. I wont eat there again. Poor meal. Even worse customer service.
Went there with a group of friends I ordered the special which was rainbow trout looked and tasted like salmon to me! I would have complained but our waitress was lost somewhere in space, service was horrendous! Not sure what has happened there but everything from food quality to service has gone way down hill over the past year! Desserts are amazing though, and would perhaps come in and order cheesecake to go but never will dine in again.
Seriously in love with everything I’ve ever had from Barney Gargles. The kettle cooked chip appetizer is amazing. Along with the wraps and french fries. The dessert to go are also delicious (and huge). Seriously worth a trip out to Selkirk just for this! Not to mention the price is spot on.
Barneys recently got new owners which changed the menu quite a bit. It’s allot more expensive then it was before. I do like the new menu it’s a good change. The service isn’t the best it takes forever to get service it’s allot of waiting. It used to be super busy but I think it’s slowed down since a few years ago. By far the best restaurant in Selkirk. The outside doesn’t look the most appealing but when you get inside it changes your mind. They’re desserts are huge so you do get what you pay for. The food is good overall they have good options on the menu and the portions are pretty large.
