Very good first impression. I wasn’t expecting much (Selkirk isn’t know for its sushi) but I had a really good lunch. Rolls were tasty. I hope I don’t have bad experiences like some of the reviewers here. I’ll be back for sure.
The food was fine service was severely lacking! We were not checked on and when we said thank you we were just ignored! Manners and good service go along way going forward I will only be getting take out! However the mother is awesome!
Normally I am not on for sushi, however after having tried Sake sushi I am hooked, the food is fresh tasting, love the tempura.
Good sushi but should have more fish in rolls. We are happy to havea sushi place so close but the quality of the food ia inconsistent. Thw amount of fish in the rolls is lacking.
It’s my favourite sushi restaurant!. I don’t understand where all this hate is coming from! I’m a big foodie and I love this restaurant. It’s family owned so when it gets busy the wait time gets a little longer, but it’s totally worth it. I noticed that another reviewer mentioned not enough rice.. but look, if a sushi roll has too much rice, that’s an indication of a cheap and poor quality sushi restaurant. The food is great quality (fish from BC!) and the owners are quite friendly. I’m from out of town and it’s totally worth the trip – and trust me I’ve tried a lot of places in Winnipeg and even places like Toronto and Calgary too in my travels. If you want to support a local, family-owned restaurant and interested in good quality sushi this is the place for you. I’ve talked to other customers here and there’s actually a lot of regulars that say they go out of their way to come here! The decor is actually quite nice too and a lot of homemade touches, such as their decorations and coasters!Definitely try it out and let them know it’s your first time and they’ll make sure you get great service. But of course, be understanding that it’s a locally family-owned restaurant as well.
Slowly disintegrating. I love this restaurant but lately it has been really hit or miss. Valentines day this year we waited two hours for our order after putting the order through. It came right as we were about to walk out the door, you think they would comp you for wasting three hours for food that should have taken ten minutes but we barely got a thank you. the only time a server came around was to give us the food, not once to check on us.
So nice to have a little place in Selkirk To go to for sushi! It’s so good & there’s so many options for rolls. I love it.
