First time ordering here and it will be my last time. The Food was so bland. The sweet and sour chicken balls were gross small and soggy. They taste the same as the honey garluc ribs that were super fatty and full of cartilage. It is the worst Chinese food I have ever had!
The best in this city! And any other city I’ve been to they don’t even know what breaded veal is in Calgary!. Ive been going there for 32 years when the old lady use to be in front. I’ve been eating there 3-4 times a month and never disliked the food it’s AWESOME. So all the other reviewers I would like to know where you can even get half decent chinese food in city Marigold use to be good but not in the last 5 years.Chinese food delivery on Mcphillips is pretty damn good in this city no one even comes close to it . For people that haven’t tried it try it and you won’t be sorry. I love chinese food and know good food when I taste it and it’s good. Try the breaded veal and sweet and sour chicken balls what I like about the breaded items it’s not all bread but actually meat! And the price is good my wife and 3 young adult children and my self spend 60-80 dollars and there’s left overs not a lot of fillers that’s why people review that it’s bland and tasteless because they’re probably use to m.s.g.john.b
Theeee WORST chinese food in the city…. My boyfriend and i just ordered here for the first time and this has to be far by the worst Chinese food ever. I hate to admit it but even Chinese food in the mall food court is WAYYY better. And i’m not even exaggerating. The food was tasteless, it was soggy, and just plain gross.I should also add, after we had paid for the food and drove off with our order, they have called us 5 mins after saying they gave us the wrong total and it should have cost us more. They wanted us to drive back and pay for the rest. Um excuse me, its not our fault you have bad math skills. Can’t believe they actually had the guts to call and make us come back and pay for THEIR mistake. WORST CHINESE FOOD…. AND WORST SERVICE EVER!!! I really do not recommend anyone to go here. You might as well go to polo and get ‘decent’ chinese food.
This was the worst Chinese food I ever ordered. Very bland and flavourless. Both the sweet and sour chicken balls and honey garlic pork tasted the same. The rice was flavourless as well. I will never order from here again.
Waste of $$$$. Ordered last night for valentines. I’ve never had worse Chinese food in my life. It was greasy.. The chicken in the chow mein and in the chicken fried rice was rolled processed chicken (gross) the chicken balls looked more like KFC POPCORN CHICKEN… It was awful. I will never ever eat there or recommend it to even my worst enemy. Total thumbs down.
Chinese takeout … good for what it is. Been taking home occasionally from this little hole in the wall for decades.Do not go for the heavily breaded foods, it will cook itself to non palatable.Usually I would agree with slamb, However she missed the mark here by ordering wrong.Stick with the dry breaded veal, excellent, dry breaded ribs (never too fatty)The Chow miens are all excellent, Ask them to leave the noodles on the side so they don’t become wet.The dry breaded shrimp is good, Cantonese chow mien also very good.I’d stay away from the bbq pork, there is much better elsewhere. They can on occasion go a bit nuts on the MSG, so ask them to go light or not at all.Over all GOOD VALUE and tasty. But remember you are taking this home or having it delivered… It is going to further cook in transport.
Cheap, but not that great. My dad’s side of the family enjoys this little hole-in-the-wall on Mcphillips, but after recently having it for my grandma’s birthday I don’t see why. The sweet and sour chicken balls were soggy and mushy undoubtedly from being drenched in the completely tasteless sauce. The honey garlic chicken balls also had hardly any flavor and didn’t come with any sauce. Lemon chicken was also on the soggy side. The Cantonese chow mein which was full of vegetables, pork, and shrimp was also very bland and missing that traditional sauce you normally get on a Cantonese chow mein. The mixed vegetables were nothing special, but would have been better if the container hadn’t been filled halfway with liquid. The dry breaded shrimp were pretty small but you got a decent portion. They had just the right amount of coating and were good. My favorite dish would be the ginger beef. It was sweet, spicy, and tender. So the food sucked but honestly for 11, yes ELEVEN dishes including tax it was only $81!! I believe you get a discount for picking up, but they do deliver. So I guess as the saying goes, you get what you pay for!
