We ordered the 3 for $9 tacos. The food was late and tacos disappointing : too small, stingy with the filling and not much flavour. Not worth for the price. The veggie dogs were pretty good.
The food is terrible. Fried chicken was HEAVILY salted and dripping grease. Food was served on paper plates and paired with no name chips. I would stay away. Staff was friendly.
Overpriced snack/comfort food. I was interested in trying this place because the menu is pretty unique. They have their own spin on classic dishes, and it’s not bad. I tried the Maxi fries a while back when I was at a show at the good will and will say I did not feel like I got my monies worth… Maxi Fries: crispy tots, KD cheese sauce and pico de gallo. Getting like 12 tots was like eating a costco sample, I was starving! And most recently I wanted to give it another shot to see if maybe the expensive comfort food snacks were actually worth it… Banh-Mi is like one of my favourite snacks, so I had to go for it. Banh-Mi: Liver mouse, pork and chicken pat, pickled daikon, cucumber, culantro and mayo. Seeing that it was $12 for this Vietnamese sub, I was hoping it would wow me… It was decent, not your traditional Banh-Mi but I wouldn’t say it was worth $12. Biting into the sub the bread is nice and crispy in the inside which I enjoyed with every bite. I personally like it when the meat in the sandwich is at least warm, but the pork and chicken sat was just cold, not making it as enjoyable. Veggies tasted fresh and the traditional pickled carrots was nice. I personally rather pay $4 for a real Vietnamese sub than this $12 okay knockoff. Overall I see this menu being good for when you’re several beers in and need a bite to eat. It is a trendy type place and it’s super convenient that it’s literally attached to a bar, but would say everything is way over priced. Not too interested in overpaying for small snacks unfortunately.
Chicken 2/5 A little burned and breading was falling off. (Try flour) Flavour was OK. Not great but OK.Hot dog. 2/5 Way overcooked. Guess they were trying for a ripper style dog but its not possible with dog they chose. Bahn Mi 1/5 This was gross and soggy. You cannot call it a bahn mi if served on a sesame hot dog bun with mayo. Maybe get demi baguettes as they can hold up better. Overall pretty disappointed with the lack of cooking skills at this place. I guess being in a bar drunk folks keep them afloat.
