Had my birthday dinner with my family here a few days ago. Disappointed would be a good way to describe the night. We came early, before 5:30pm, to avoid the dinner rush. There wad only a couple of tables occupied when we came in. After placing our order, we were left waiting for well over an hour before our food arrived. During this time the place started to fill up and the lone server had her hands full taking orders, cleaning tables and taking payments. To her credit she did a pretty good job. She was just overwhelmed with the task at hand. The only saving grace was the food itself. We ordered Sisig, Tapsilog, Pares and Pancit Canton. Everything was delicious. If they could only improve the service time my rating would be much higher. I think management should look into adding more staff. As mentioned earlier, there was only one server upfront and from the looks of it, there might have only been one cook in the kitchen.
My friends and I weren’t satisfied with the food we ordered. The sisig was way too salty and the string beans and the bokchoy in the Kare-karen tasted like spoilt vegetables. I don’t think we will ever go back here again.
Went here once to try their Silog (Filipino breakfast) and was really disappointed. I had the tapsilog and the food was a bit cold and the tapa (marinated beef jerky) was kinda bland and hard. The rice included was not even fried rice (tasted like it’s just a regular cooked rice then mixed with fried garlic bits) and that’s it. The whole dish was lacking flavour.
My favourite dish here is their Sisig, plus their sauce is the bomb! It would have been great if the serving was bigger! But overall, the food here is good!
So I tried this place out today after reading reviews on this website. And it was a disappointment.I ordered 3 dishes: The kare kare dish, bbq pork, and eggrollsThe kare kare was below average here. The meat being tender was the best thing about it. There wasn’t enough sauce for the dish, and the sauce itself needed more flavor. The menu on this website shows 13.50, as well as the paper menu on their table showed the same price. But when you go up to pay, the price is 14.50 from a different priced menu they have upfront. I wouldn’t have mind if this the dish was better.**Do yourself a favor and go down the street to rice bowl for a much better kare kare dish. The BBQ pork dish was decent. The pork itself wasn’t anything special , but the sauce they provide with it makes up for the dish.**Mangkok has a better bbq skewers dish. The third dish was the worst. Egg rolls. I’m a big egg roll fan, and I try these everywhere I go. These were definitely the worst filipino egg rolls I tried. They look nice, but there’s barely any meat in them. I didn’t enjoy this side dish at all. Price on this website showed 4.50. Price paid was 6.00. Again i wouldn’t mind this if these actually tasted good.**Jolly bee on Isabel had my favorite egg rollsI’m not sure if I can add my suggested restaurants to go to in this review. But I hope this helps someone else. The reviews I read here definitely misled me.I DO NOT recommend having these dishes at this restaurant. I cannot judge any other dishes as these are the only 3 I have tried and will not be going back.
Good if you want to eat pork. Stay away if vegetarian or only eat fish. Not many veggies to be had. My boyfriend had the pork adobo, I had the milk fish soup. Let’s just say that his plate was cleaned, and my bowl was largely left untouched. I also ended up throwing up a lot, and feeling very sick after eating their milk fish soup. As bad as it tasted trying to eat it, it was even worse coming back up. It’s not often that I can’t forced myself to eat something, even if I don’t care for it. Food is fuel. But that milk fish soup was something terrible. We also called ahead by an hour placing both our reservation, and orders. Despite that, and them being relatively not busy at all, our food was still late to the table, and they weren’t serving half of what was listed on the menu.TL;DR: Come for pork options, I hear they’re great. Stay away if you want to eat anything but pork and rice.
Food was great and affordable. The chef and the servers were nice and service was okay. It’s easy to order through phone as well. Keep up with serving Filipino food!
