I love this place. A truly authentic mom and pop shop with excellent Vietnamese food and CHEAP prices. The Bahn Mi sandwiches have big portions and fresh herbs and the daikon is nice and soft. The grilled pork bahn mi is my go to. If you like it spicy they can really kick it up a notch if you ask. Definitely recommend!
By far the best banh mi I’ve ever had. Great prices, 100% authentic, and really good value (the sandwiches are huge)! This place will definitely be my new go-to lunch spot. The pho is next on my list to try!
I ran in quickly for a sandwich to go and ordered the grilled pork bahn mi. The place is quite bare and confusing and the coolers were only filled with soda and coconut water. I was searching for a menu other than the basic hand written one beside the cashier. The owners English is extremely limited and after ordering a pork meatball ended up with the grilled pork instead. The bahn mi is 10 inches long. The bread very fresh and soft with a slight crust to it. Very flavorful and the pork had a hint of cinnamon it seamed which was different but pleasant. $6 with tax and you can’t go wrong! Just before I was leaving I noticed the menu with pictures high above on the wall. I was excited to see they make soup and tried to order some but it’s only on Saturdays I found out. Great sandwich and great price…..I’ll definitely be going since I live in the area! Nice find!
Weekly craving for their Banh Mi! Huge sandwiches, fantastic flavones, and CHEAP! Weird hours, and you might have to ask a couple times for things, but that’s so minor when you get to taste what they make.
My brother had brought home a few of the banh mi subs from here and the wrapper said Mr. Sub on it. These subs were huge! Biggest banh mi sandwiches I’ve ever seen. I was curious as I didn’t think we had a Mr. Sub in Winnipeg. I ate the sub, no regrets about eating his last sub because after the first bite I couldn’t stop. It is honestly the best banh mi sub I’ve ever eaten in Winnipeg, hands down. So I tried googling to find where exactly this place was and as soon as I found it I went straight there. Walking into the place the decor was nothing special at all, seemed like a little shop, no other customers at all. Then I saw the sign for banh mi. If I remember correctly it was about 5 or 6 subs for about 12 dollars I believe? Either way I struck gold. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Honestly give it a try! You won’t go anywhere else for banh mi I guarantee it!
This is not a Vietnamese restaurant, it’s just a butcher soup but they have a counter where you can order Banh Mi.This is probably the best place for Banh Mi I’ve tried so far. Their banh mi is about 10 inches long for just $4.50-5.00 (depending on what kind you get). They have different kinds:Cold cut (banh mi dac biet) Grilled pork (banh mi thit nuong)Grilled beef (banh mi bo)Grilled chicken (banh mi ga)Pork meatball (banh mi xiu mai)BBQ meatball (banh mi nem nuong)I got the Banh Mi Thit Nuong and Banh Mi Dac Biet and they were served with generous amount of pickled cucumbers, carrots, daikon and cilantro. The bbq itself tasted good and the vegetables gave an extra kick to the sandwiches which I really liked.and they also have few other Vietnamese foods like Banh Xeo (vietnamese crepe), salad roll (goi cuon) and spring roll (cha gio). For just a cheap price, you’ll get a footlong sub and it’s really worth it. The staff are really nice and friendly as well. Will definitely go back and try the other kinds. So glad to found this place. Really recommend it to those who love Banh Mi.
Best viet subs in the city!! It’s in a bit of a rough neighbourhood but the price and the size of their subs make it worth the trip. The subs are double the size of your average sub. I would say this is now my favourite place to get a sub.
