Had the falafel sandwich.Lots of crunchy falafel.Tahini, vinegary hot sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, pickled turnips, in a pita.Falafel less balls and more crunchy filling. Very deep, tasty fried spicy flavour.The falafel balls kind of stay on their side while all the wet, tahini soaked salad toppings stay on theirs which is fine by me; both sides being delicious in their own right.Service was great too!
Great owners but cheap. So I’ve order a beef/lamb shawarma. Thought I’ll get the same meat that spins but instead got seasoned ground beef . She didn’t even shaved it off like in other places. Never eating there again
One of my favourite shawarma restaurants in the city. The staff are quite friendly, and the food is delicious.The choice of spicing is really quite nice, and I really enjoy both their wraps and samosas. Their tamarind sauce has a very subtle but desirable flavour – it is neither too sweet and not too thick – it is just right. The samosas have a really good pastry shell texture, and have a lot of filling.Their kebabs have a very nice spicing to them, and the vegetables they use seem quite fresh. Everything has a homemade quality to it, which is quite delightful. The sauces have a strong flavour, but they are not overpowering. I feel they use pretty good ingredients, and the taste of their food is quite consistent from visit to visit.The overall decor and washrooms could perhaps do with a little renovation, but that would be my only criticism.The pricing is quite reasonable, and the the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I feel they put a lot of effort, heart, and soul into their food.Overall, I really enjoy Shawarma Time, and I strongly recommend it to others.
Shawarma Time is not my favourite shawarma place… I was greeted by super friendly employees and I felt pretty welcomed here. Coming in, one of the first things I noticed was the meat. It looked somewhat dry, wasn’t being heated and just looked meh. I got number 29 which is pretty much mixed meats on rice. Just by looking at my plate I could tell the meat was dry, and after taking my first bit the texture of the meat was rough because it was so dry. Flavours were alright, nothing special. Both the rice and meat were neither flavourful or bland, it was just meh. Got the hummus cause I love hummus, and I was disappointed. Very oily and just meh. Pita bread was stretchy and a bit rough, so it was for sure old. Looking and trying my friends plate, the dish was about the same as mine in quality. Glad I tried it, but I probably won’t be coming back to try anything else because I’ve had much better Shawarma at another place.
This place is the real deal when it comes to Lebanese food. Always excellent service, the owners are wonderful people and their memory is excellent. I usually go for lunch here and the food never disappoints! I have tried close to everything on their menu and it is all phenomenal! The place doesn’t look like much on the outside and inside, however, i go to restaurants for food, not ambience. Keep up the good work guys!
Best shawarma in Winnipeg! Excellent portion sizes, amazing taste and seasonings, great service! We live in the east end and still make the trip out for this place.
