Store is cramped and smelly. Beware to use the correct wrapper for your take-out. The cashier is menacingly mad when you check out using the wrong wrapper. I used styrofor for my turon, and cashier said I would need to use the brown paper. Didnt budge, so she charged me the styrofor, without my knowledge. All that unpleasant experience for 3 pieces of turon. Hmmm spoiled the fun eating turon haha.
Great Filipino street food! Barbeque, fish ball, & grilled chicken skewers! They also have classics like palapog, tosino, longanisa, & deep fried fish. It’s an Asian supermarket, so you know they have those yummy Asian treats! Pocky, chicharon, and turon rank among my favorite foods to have as a light snack. And if you’re thirsty they also have mogu mogu, and grass jelly drink. Convenient stop for the surrounding Schools and people that attend the Gym nearby.
Food is great. Customer service not so much. Some of them Seems unhappy to serve.I understand some days may be hard but if its every time we go there well thats unacceptable.
Tindahan Food Mart has the best sisig in Winnipeg in my opinion. Although it is fast casual food, it is something you must order when you visit here!
Food is good but I have to admit this place is a bit unsanitary for Canadian standards. I’m no stranger to street food, especially Filipino street food, and remember that there have been worse establishments in terms of perceived cleanliness, and I didn’t die or get sick (and even then, there were some ‘reputable’ places in Winnipeg I’ve dined at and gotten sick and they appeared to look clean). They serve all kinds of Filipino food cafeteria take out style. They have halo halo for dessert, barbequed pork kabobs, Filipino congee (called lugaw), tokwat baboy (tofu and pork), dried fish, and numerous pastries like bibingka, puto, etc. They have very indulgent snack food like deep fried chicken skin (chicharon na manok) and pork rinds if you’re not watching your salt and cholesterol. 😉 They also have kwek kwek which is deep fried quail eggs in batter.Prices are very cheap and if you want a quick lunch or snack to go, this is your place. Again the perceived cleanliness of the establishment doesn’t really bother me … and doesn’t bother many Filipinos because there’s been worse. LOL.
