Mixed feelings. Late last year my wife and I along with my brother-in-law decided to try Danny’s restaurant on Ellice. We were very shocked with the huge portions we received and everything tasted amazing, plus the service was outstanding. I was left with such a great impression that I purchased a gift certificate for my sister and brother-in-law for a Christmas gift. They went for dinner a few months later and had nothing good to say about their experience. They said the portions were not satisfying and not very flavorful. I’m not sure how this could be. I’m not sure about returning.
Were at the restaurant this moment and Ive just had the Appetizer sampler n my wife had the ribs, potato n beans. My sampler was the better deal as it had way more food than hers n her plate cost more.Anyways, her food was avg she said but she didnt like the beans.they tasted like creme of celery soup with beans. My plate had perogies, tater skins, ribs, fries,n chicken fingers.three of everything except the fries. It was all good but greasy.Too hard on my gut.It came to 43$ which isnt too bad.The menu looks decent for selection as well.I think worth a visit but not on a refular basis for me as Im not much of a meat eater.Btw, I did order the 1/2 chicken but there was a 15 min wait cuz of a party being held here.Id get that next time.
I do a lot of shopping at the farmers markets around Winnipeg as any and every respectable foodie in Winnipeg would and Danny’s is always on site in st Norbert cooking up some of the most delicious BBQ you can get in Winnipeg hands down. Their pulled pork is absolutely amazing! I’m very surprised at the lack of votes or reviews for them here I expected to see a lot more support for these guys. If you haven’t had the privelage of trying them out book something with them have them come out and try some of the best BBQ you can get around here. It seems like they would be perfect for corporate events like Christmas parties where you’ve got to feed a bunch of people. What else can I say… TRY IT!
