You cant tell by the location until you walk in but this is a very nice establishment with more recent upgrades.Very nice atmosphere. Great service and a pretty good menu selection. Generous portions and everything is good for the most part. The one weak item is their Greek salad. They need to learn how to make a proper Greek. Aside from that I would still recommend Dals. Pricing is average and its a fairly casual dining place.
Im seriously so sick right now and all I wanted was a comforting bowl of soup. I walked in to Dals takeout around 3 this afternoon and said I need soup. The guy (didnt get a name) first said that all they had was beef and barley. That was fine with me but he went the extra mile and found a last serving of borscht. Seriously, that was exactly what I wanted and needed. So freaking good! Thank you so much!
So far I’ve had their pizza, burgers, and fried chicken and fries. All I can say is that whatever comes out of their kitchen is delicious and I’ve never been disappointed.Whether you dine in or order take out, the food is fresh and hot, and the service is friendly and efficient. This is one of Transcona’s gems and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
I been there numerous times for lunch and their Chicken ceasar salads are by far the best tasting. They have been salty at times but they taste better then my other favorite places like the Keg, the grace cafe et al.The staff have always been very friendly and the food has always been served quick which is important during a lunch break. The take out service is great as well.
Went to Dals for the first time. Ordered one of their pizzas as everyone says they are very good. I was not disappointed. It was very good. The best in the city….not quite, but very close and would be worthy of the title. Will I order another pizza from Dals… Absolutely.
I had wanted to try this place out for a while but don’t get over to Transcona that often. Went there Saturday around 5:00 and barely got a seat. It has a separate take-out location beside the restaurant/lounge area. First off, It’s in a strip mall. Clearly NOT a drive-in, no biggie. The servers in the lounge were friendly and quick. I ordered the Dal’s Burger with fries and a Coke. The burger was the typical (Fatboy) Winnipeg style w/chili. Bun was fresh but the patty seemed a little mushy. The fries were not that special and were cold. $20.00 for bill and decent tip, I would definitely try again.
Pretty solid all around. We almost always order a chicken meal for delivery or pickup. Better dollar value than KFC easily. The only really issue is it’s ultra busy so your order is always late. Last deliver was over 1-1/2 hours when they told us 45 min.
