The good: Unique flavors. Variety of soft flavors and dips. Serve other types of food. Sell old fashioned candies and collectors items. Little cute tables inside and outside during the summer. Open all year. Close by Safeway so it’s not too much out of the way.The bad: Seems as though the business has jumped on board with the temporary foreign worker program. None of the staff speak a lot of English and it’s hard to communicate with them. They don’t seem too familiar with the food. Slow. Very slow. It took this one girl 15 to 20 minutes to make one dip cone. At least 1o of those minutes were wasted with her doing something other than making my order. I don’t know what she was doing. The candy covered insects are placed around the tills and it’s gross to see before you eat. I can’t look at that corner when it comes time to pay. Some of the soft flavors come out bland and flavorless. Some of the dips are waxy.

My favorite ice cream place! Friendly service and smooth rich REAL ice cream.
Great little place!. An awesome little addition to the Transcona landscape! The menu has loads of variety and specialty items (personal favorite so far being the Snickers ‘blizzard’) and the prices are very reasonable. Even though I live just a short walk up the street from DQ on Day St, this will be my more frequent stop for ice cream even if it means loading the little ones up in the van for a short drive (or a long walk once they’re old enough:).8/10!
Agreed!!! Dirty nanaimo is fabulous. And very well priced.
Try the Dirty Nanaimo! I want to try everything
Cheaper than dairy queen up the road. Waffle cones are way better. Twist cones are my fav. Other than that they serve a variety of nestle ice cream. Staff seems inexperienced, could be because they are too new.
