Filipino breakfast here is just okay. Whenever I order either Tapsilog or Tocilog, the meat always tasted bland and it seems they always overcook/overfried it for some reason as it’s really hard to cut and chew the meat. Their ulams (entrees) here are a little bit pricey, got Kare-kare once on just a small container and they charged me $13. There’s definitely better Filipino places out there.
Had the Tosilog for brunch. It was pretty delicious for its price. For less than $8, you get a meal that will definitely fill you up. If you’re hungry, this is the place to be.
Poor Service. This was my first time trying Filipino food so I was unfamiliar with any dishes. When I walked in, it was full of Filipinos which I thought was a good sign, but it seems that it is ONLY geared toward Filipinos. When I went up to the counter the lady acted annoyed to tell us what was being offered… there were no signs and I didn’t know what anything was. She interrupted our interaction as well, to talk about going dancing on the weekend with another customer who had walked up beside me. Won’t be back.
Poor service, ripped off, first visit and will be the last!. So poor. The worst filipino resto that I able to go to in winnipeg. Complete ripped off…the prize of $ 9.25 are totally not what you expect of what kind of Filipino food and portion that they serve. The eat all u can eat rice is not even a big deal. I bought kare2x, 2 pcs of chuck pork meat wow! That will only cost like a $1. Then second viand we choose, adobong pusit, theres like 5pcs of small squid, 3rd one a combo 2 choices 2 items which I choose paksiw na bangus and papaitan, no taste at all! This is my 1st time to visit this restaurant and will be the last! I wonder why they still have many people during lunch time when we visit! I guess the filipino community in north end of winnipeg has no place to go nearest than this resto, but If u drive at west end! Myrna’s and Tindahan food mart is much way way better, even the new resto called jeepney! And I rather go vietnamese and chinese resto, than go back to kalan!
Very Satisfied. The food is always delicious and the staff are very friendly! Definetly thee best filipino food in the city. I will most certainly continue to keep coming back to this restaurant…
Quite pricey. For the same food, I will suggest CB restaurant because their price is a bit higher. Also I will not recommend to use debit card here because they charge 25 cents for every transaction.
The lady at the counter seemed not to know their food pricing. I stopped by to pick up some spring rolls and charged me .35 centsinstead of .25. I was disappointed andby that won’t be back.No thanks for being dishonest. Not so friendly staff.
