Usually hotels will have a show piece restaurant. You know, the kind people will drive an hour for… this is not hat restaurant. It’s rare to screw up breakfast but some how they managed to. Cold fried potatoes, poached eggs that are still raw and the limestone bacon on earth. This place is not worth the $$. Even the view is nothing great.

Vile Catering. Our compnay held an event at the hotel, which was catered by the restaurant.It was supposed to be a chinese buffet, but what was provided was nothing but several examples of overcooked mush, drowning in a cheap, bottled sauce.The ‘chicken balls’ were frozen balls of some kind of processed, jelly-like meat.Absolutely horrible. I mean WAY over the top horrible. I mean ‘they should be embarassed’ horrible.

Pass. This restaurant has never been know to have decent food. Even when it was the Northstar or other names. I’ve been to it a couple of times. You would think that the restaurant and view would be very nice. Not. I pass on this hotel. Now if you want excellent food you should have gone to the Velvet Glove in the Westin. If and when you return to Winnipeg there are so many excellent restaurants out there, Infernos, Tre Visi, Velvet Glove, Homers, Saucers, Sushi Ya, Sushi N, Diana’s Pizza to name a few.
