We were hoping to eat out on the beautiful roof top patio, but weather did not co-operate. The inside of the restaurant is lovely, service was OK and the food OK at best. The menu is interesting but I’d like a do over. I had the wild mushroom and goat cheese wrap and didn’t particularly enjoy it. My dining partners had the roasted butternut squash salad ( with not a single sign of any butternut squash and the waiter didn’t seem to care ), and the mussels and fries which were good. Definitely wouldn’t go back unless it was a nice summer day.
‘Sunday brunch at The Allen’ has a nice ring to it, and one that people will hear from me regularly from now on. A short stroll from my place, this experience is now counted among the reasons why I live downtown. Great food, beautiful surroundings, and gracious service. Brava!
