I have been a pretty regular customer of Baked Expectations for many years. The cakes arealways excellent and the French fries are soo good. I have yet to try the other food but it always looks good. They didn’t earn a 5 because it’s always very disorganized which makes it a stressful place to go. Also the prices keep climbing and it’s getting difficult to justify going out for dessert and spending nearly $25 after you get a drink with your cake. I’ll probably be back but as I said it’s getting hard to justify.

I love their cakes. I usually go for the red velvet cake but I decided to switch it up and get the mocha torte. My boyfriend got the Oreo cheesecake. For 7.95 you get a humongous piece. It was really good, I obviously had to take the rest home because I couldnt finish it. Our waiter was really nice. He was prompt and asking if everything was okay. Okay, I didnt want to believe all the reviews about staff. Because really, my waiter was nice to me and everybody was always doing something. However, the cashier does reflect the restaurant. She didnt really care much and she doesnt say a lot either. She really looked like she doesnt like her job. I left there feeling eh because she was kind of rude. But the waiter was nice and the service was good.

Desserts are good, they have an excellent drink assortment. Dinner there is okay, my ceasar salad clearly had a home made dressing because all I could take was the anchovy paste. Cute little place though, good date spot

The chocolate cake we ordered was delicious, and the staff was amazing — some of the nicest people we met during our entire vacation. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing treat.

Long post but please read through!First of all, NOT A FOOD REVIEW, this is a review for the front staff and not our waitress, who was nice enough when she was serving our table. Second, I would have to be pretty pissed off to bother writing a review, which says a lot about our experience here. My family and I visited this restaurant on a Wednesday evening, around 5:30pm, and we were the only ones there. Service was ok, food was ok, but since we had our two young children with us, we didnt stay long. We finished our meal and decided to get dessert to go. Here comes the fun part. We let the kids pick a cake from the front display. At this point, there are a couple of tables going but it is not busy. There are at least five people standing behind the display. We stood there with a 5- and a 1-year old loudly making their choices, yet no one asks us if we needed anything. After a few minutes, I move to the register to just pay for our meal. Surely, someone will take our money? No joke, two people walked right past us from behind the counter without so much as acknowledging us. I get it, it may not be your job to work the till, but you can say someone will be right with you and get the person whose job it is to take my gd money. After even more minutes, my husband asks have you paid yet? I answer I would, if someone would talk to me and the girl behind the counter finally gets her act together and comes over to do her job. So she was perfectly aware we were there but could not be bothered until we got pissy? Clearly customer service is not your forte. Ive had a quick read through the negative reviews and they all relate to rude service. Im not one to boycott a place, but Id rather spend my hard-earned money at a place that treated their customers with respect.

Had to endure the manager or owner or whatever yelling at a staff member for….it wasn’t clear, it just seemed like angry abuse. Food was…meh, not worth the awful atmosphere.

Who doesn’t love dessert?! You won’t be disappointed. My aunts been coming here since the 90s. Best dessert in town! My only negatives are the washrooms are still creepy and the bagel for the lox and cream cheese was noticeably smaller than the last time i was there. I miss the blackboard menu because it was unique to the place and I wish they’d bite the bullet and let customers pay by credit card. Despite these cons, I will always go back because the German chocolate cheesecake is so delicious. Only once after all these years did i get a slice with an over baked crust. This is a great location for dessert and coffee after a show or concert. The selections of display will make choosing difficult. My aunt and her husband usually select two different ones and share. Even with this you can go back several times without eating the same thing again. I usually go for the cheesecakes, but the tortes and the shmoo were also excellent. We have also gone for a full meal, burgers and fries were very good, but leave room for des
