Average Thai food – nothing WOW. I like the pad Thai here, but do find it gets cold quickly. Have also tried the lettuce wraps – which were very fresh and tasty.
So the chairs, carpet, and booths are outdated, but don’t let the ambience skew your visit because the food was great. We sat at the corner window and we love to people watch so it was a great view of the busy Osborne and River corner. We had Tom Yum Talay soup because I wanted some seafood and it was pretty tasty. The coconut rice was great and came in such a pretty silver serving dish. The green curry was flavourful, though a little watery. Our favourite was the panang curry though.. I would have licked that plate clean if it was socially acceptable! The prices are ok. I didn’t find the dishes too small like others have mentioned. We would go back.
Such good thai food! Consistently delicious. The Massaman Curry is AMAZING. And if you’re into tofu, they make really good tofu, so consider subbing the meat for tofu. I’ve never had anything I haven’t liked though.
This place has never disappointed. From the setting to the serving staff to the food. Staff have always been friendly and helpful and the food has always been delicious. One of the first things I noticed was no salt or pepper on the table. I also found out why, the food is spiced and seasoned beautifully on its’ own. We have found the prices to be fair for the portion sizes and quality. It has become a place we think of first, especially for special occasions. Definitely worth trying!
I’m no expert, but I prefer this to Sukothai and other Thai restaurants in Winnipeg. Consistently impressed with every dish, always happy with the service, plus a really cool atmosphere and a decent price. I’ve eaten here (and had takeout) many times, always happy.

They made me wait 41 minutes with no explanation.A very hot aluminum container was placed on the very bottom of my plastic bag, with no cardboard like other restaurants, and no warning about the temperature. I almost burned my hand.
Awesome meal every time I’m at Bangkok Thai. I’ve eaten at the restaurant and also ordered in at work–superb each time. Affordable prices, great service and delicious food.
