Super disappointed with the service inside to sit down and eat. No waitress, had to go to the bar to order drinks & food. Was over charged by almost $20 (didn’t realize it until later as I had waited over 20 minutes for one of three bartenders to even acknowledge I was there). Food was cold, and seemed like the cook spilled hot sauce on all our food. The waitress that was circulating throughout the bar didn’t seem to want to make any money. It would be nice to be as valued inside the bar as on the patio. This used to be a fave spot , however the awful service has left a bitter taste.
Perhaps the patio is better, but i’ve been in twice with friends now inside at night, and it feels like a dive bar that doesn’t know it’s a dive bar (and seems to try to be several other things at once). Quite a menu, but if you want to see what you’re eating, sit next to one of the tv screens. Louder, but at least you’ll have a light source.My calamari was alright, but they would do better to put a touch more effort into the quality than the quantity (I do have to give it credit or amount, it was an impressive pile).My biggest suggestion (as someone who works in the service industry) to the restaurant would be to stack their plates nearer to a heat source!! 2 of our 3 dishes (the third was a fries basket, not a plate) needed to return to the kitchen to be reheated, because they were cold by the time they got to the table. On the return of my food, i checked immediately and found that the food was steaming hot, but the plate felt rather like it had been sitting next to an open window. Naturally, the food didn’t stay warm long. You guys will save your servers a lot of trouble, and give your customers a far better experience if you just keep your plate stacks warm.
Cheap food cheap place trashy dirty grungy poor service keep your money. This place isn’t what it used to be. Poor ambience and a bad sound system. Don’t waste your time here.
Went there last Wednesday with a friend. We walked in, we seated ourselves. No one greeted us at all. Sat there for 20 minutes and still no one approached us. So we left and walked down the street to Saffrons where we had a phenomenal lunch.
Went there for dinner with a friend . Ordered the falafel burger with yam fries which tasted superb . They had good young crowd with pool table and patio .Music was good and open till late !!
Don’t do it. I know the patio is tempting, but you will be sorely disappointed. The service is absolutely terrible. I once came in, was told to seat myself, grabbed a spot on the patio, and 20 minutes later had to walk in to ask for a menu & water only to be told that they don’t have enough staff to service that side of the patio! …? The food is not good, definitely too expensive for what it is. The interior of the restaurant is not well kept and certainly needs updating.I definitely get the feeling that Bar I coasts along on it’s predictable friends-of-the-staff crowd and I’d-do-anything-for-a-patio summer patrons. If more competition were to pop up nearby offering a similar outdoor Corydon experience with even a tiny bit of character or quality, Bar I would be screwed.
Great Coffee and the staff are so friendly and nice ! Been going their since I was a kid. Definitely needs to be renovated, it is getting a little dirty and old.
