Came here for dinner with the family, and this is one of our family favorites!I’ve never had Danish food anywhere else, nor have I been to Denmark, so I’m no expert. All I know is the food is tasty, the portions are generous, and the service is excellent!I always get the schnitzel, and my dad always gets the chicken and my brothers girlfriend always gets the pork tenderloin. Whether this is authentic or not, you won’t be disappointed with any of them.Seating on weekends can be troublesome so make sure to make a reservation. Parking also sucks cause it’s basically whatever you can find on the street. My family have been coming to Bistro Dansk for 10+ years. This place has seen the Westend through its ups and its downs. I absolutely love the area at the moment and this is a real jewel in the area. For the portion sizes alone, this place offers excellent value. Go try it, you won’t be disappointed.

Wow! Have been here several times and never disappointed. We booked a reservation Saturday evening for a anniversary dinner. Our server was sweet, friendly & very attentive to our table.. making sure that we were comfortable & had everything we needed. Dinner was great, most of us ordered the chicken or pork schnitzel, which came with obrien potatoes and a choice of cabbage or vegetable. Most of us had the cabbage. The schnitzel was one of the best things I’ve ever ate! and the cabbage went so well with the schnitzel. Great flavours and portion sizes! At other restaurants you pay the same price and get a tiny portion.. but not here! You definitely get what you pay for and more! Many of us finished our meals, and for the ones that didn’t, it was enjoyed the next day! It really does make great left overs!! Overall, we had a great experience here and will continue to come back! You don’t find many restaurants like this anymore! Fantastic!

First time here and I had a pleasant experience. There isn’t a whole lot of Danish/European places in Winnipeg, so it was nice to mix it up and try something new for myself. Started off with their bread which was great, it for sure felt and tasted home made. I had the HAKKEBF, which is minced beef steak topped with fried egg served with potato salad a sort of zesty dill sauce, and some pieces of fruit. I’m a sucker for meat but specifically steaks, so I had to order this dish. I would say it was good. Tried a bit of the pork schnitzel and thought it was very good! Everything had familiar flavours and was tasty. It didn’t taste like it had been sitting in the back for hours either, it tasted more fresh like it was prepared after it was ordered. It did take a while to get our food, but I think it was worth it for the freshness. Good portions, friendly service, and in a fun neighbourhood. Would say it’s worth a try.

Friends and I went to this restaurant expecting a good meal as we used to frequent it. I have never had such a bad restaurant experience. The food that all of us had was terrible and when we complained not only was the waitress not apologetic, she was rude. Her response was not to say she was sorry that the food was not good, but that we would have to pay for it anyway. My friend ordered pate and was served mushy liver that was warm topped with warm mushrooms. It was not even remotely resembling pate – it was disgusting. Another diner ordered trout and it was fishy and seemed to be suffering from freezer burn. I ordered a filet mignon and received a rubbery piece of meat that appeared to be a shoulder cut rather than tenderloin. I have never had a worse meal and been treated with such rudeness.

Small place. Busy night! Special was Chicken Schnitzel with potatoes and choice of vegetables or cabbage. I went with my cousin as a belated birthday dinner. We each had the special, mine with vegetables and his with cabbage. Have enough left over for 2 other meals. Delicious!!!!! Moist chicken! Potatoes are wonderful. I can’t wait to go back! Sooooooo good! Our server was the owners own daughter. She was really nice and good!

Always amazing, whether you go for lunch or dinner. Their schnitzel is very tasty and authentic, and their sweet and sour cabbage is to die for. Their soups are obviously home made. If they’re serving borscht, get some!

Chicken Schnitzel. That’s all you need to know. We’ve eaten here many times over the years, and its consistently great. A bit pricey, but you definitely get your money’s worth. Once in a while one of our guests varies from the house specialty, and is disappointed. So, Chicken Schnitzel. If you want something else, don’t go here. The home made bread is absolutely wonderful, the potato salad is to die for and they have a fairly good wine list. Highly recommended if you are very hungry.
