As a vegetarian, I was pretty stoked to try Boonburger when I took a trip to Winnipeg recently. I was actually pretty disappointed though. The service was pretty bad, but no big issues. Sat for awhile before being told we had to order at the counter. And while I bit into my burger and had sauce all over my hands, I looked for napkins- none. I looked around and found a roll of papertowelover by the counter. Not a big deal, but I’ve never been to a restaurant where I’ve had to go rip off papertowelto get my own napkins. And the staff there were pretty stoic and not exactly friendly.Tried the bacuncheezeburger and meh- way too much sauce and the bread fell apart and didn’t really hold well. It would be forgivable if it tasted good, but I’ve definitely had better. My son tried the lil’ chickenfingers and while he was happy (dipping them in ketchup), I took a taste and they were pretty horrible- very cardboardy and no flavour.I’d go again though and try other things on the menu. I’d love for them to be successful and wanted more than anything to fall in love with the place.
I enjoyed the food here. I came here for burger week to try out their burger special, and it was delicious! I also tried a bite from my friends who ordered off the regular menu, and it was fairly good. Only issue is how small the place is
Canadas first 100% vegan burger joint did not disappoint. Tasty jalapeo chedda burger with poutine filled my belly and made me happy. A cool spot on Sherbrooke – love it!
I’m not a fan of veggie burger until I tried this place. Ordered the traditional Boon burger and was delicious. Fast friendly service. I won’t hesitate to stop by soon. Parking can be a hassle. I’ve heard their downtown location has shut down.
I’ve eaten here quite a few times and being a non-vegan that says a lot. The food is always flavorful, I always leave full (often with leftovers), and everything on the menu is feels fairly healthy. In the past my complaints would have been the layout of the seating arrangements and the food wait time. However, I went there this last week for burger week and was happily surprised by the new seating arrangements and was shocked at how quick our meal came out, despite how busy the place was getting. One other thing: getting A/C would definitely improve my overall enjoyment at the venue. In the summer months it’s quite noticeably hot in there and I often prefer to eat outside. However, the building temperature was not an issue during my last visit (early Sept).
Super cute and tasty burger place. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Staff are very friendly and the restaurant is kept very clean. They also carry vegan doughnuts.
I have been wanting to try this place since I seen it on You Gotta Eat Here& its nice littlerestaurant. I ordered the specialof the daywhich was a buffalo Caesar chickn wrap it had tomato, red onion, roman lettuce, there white patty with buffalo Caesar dressing. Flavor wise the wrap was good dressing was not overpowering & could taste all the ingredients but my problem was with the white patty I had a hard time with the texture felt like a solid brick of cheese in the middle of the wrap was hard to get past. I’ll have to try something else next time I come in here.
