One of my favorite ice cream places!! I’m a huge ice cream addict and come here several times over the summer to get something different. Then walking across the bridge. It’s part of the BDI experience! The best is the Saltzburg, It’s a Smore and a maple walnut sundae.
I say that the beginning of spring isnt when the flowers bloom, its when BDI sign says We are Open! I am a bit of a fanatic I fell in love with the Peach Velvet, and as a result I have eyes for no other! Lol I enjoy this place immensely, you can grab a Cone/Split/Goog and go for a nice walk over the bridge, just remember to hold onto your garbage! The community is gracious enough to tolerate the vast amount of foot traffic through the neighbourhood so be nice and put your waste away in the Bins!
This place is always hyped up so much, and it shows with long lines at all times. It always leads to a lovely walk down the bridge overlooking the river. I personally prefer just the simple hard ice creams and find things like the Sleeping Beauties a little overdone. Granted if you can handle a pineapple full of ice cream etc, more power to you!
This place is probably the best go-to ice cream spot in Winnipeg. Best quality soft serve, its just so good! Slowly trying everything on the menu but my go to is probably the peach velvet, but if im a little bit adventurous, Id go for one of their specials such as the Saltzberg. The wait in line is about 10-20 minutes, but its so worth it!
Best ice cream in Winnipeg hands down. Their soft ice cream is silky smooth and hey BREYERS it’s actually ice cream not frozen desert. Their milkshakes are awesome also. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality. Great job BDI!
Stopped by BDI the other day to grab a sleeping beauty. It was delicious! Only complaint is that they only had two windows open and there was quite the line up. However the wait is always worth it!
I really want to like this place, but in all honesty it’s pretty overrated. I’ve been a few times and each time I’ve ordered a different specialty item. I’ve had the cantaberry, the saltzberg, the sleeping beauty and the smores cone, all of which are just different variations of boring, soft serve vanilla ice cream which seems to be all this place does. In the summer you’re lucky if you don’t have to spend at least half an hour in line and spend close to $10 on a single item. I thought there was just too heavy of a volume of guests, but seeing how the staff operated when it was our turn just proved that the service was lacking and very bad. The bridge is nice, but the one in Assiniboine park is nicer. Save time and money, go to Sargent Sundae instead.
